Handwashed and waxed my baby. Thinking about plastic dipping the rest of my trims.

* What did you do to/for your E46 today? *

coded my car today.
all thanks to Mango, I have my DRLs on, can roll up my windows with my remote, and keep my fogs on while using my high beams.
this last one should help me get back to Texas tomorrow with less worry.

thanks man! I have until around 4pm tomorrow to find things to do. boy do I love LA. got gas for my e46 in Beverly Hills tonight and had my first Full Service gas station experience. pretty awkward to just sit and watch him.
guy asked if I wanted him to check under the hood. I laughed and said, "no, trust me, everything is PERFECT."

So this weekend I did the VANOS and VCG as I already mentioned. However, I also worked on a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T. Let me just tell you guys what a nightmare this car is, and how much easier our cars are to work on. It took me 4 hours to change the thermostat. Every single piece I had to remove fought to the death. Then, on reinstallation, everything fought again. I don't think I'll ever complain about working on an E46.

I'm kind of iffy about putting silver stickers on a window that's tinted 18%. I feel like you wont see it lol

Took her to the maxbimmer Spring Cruise 2013.

Drove 800km in ~12 hours without a single hiccup. Aside from the typical rear spring binding noise, the ST coilovers handled phenomenally.

Might not look like much in the picture, but this is probably one of the steepest inclines I've driven on.

Damn starters on these are a nightmare. Mine being an XI and auto gave me such little room to work so I just gave up and had my mechanic do it after I had already spent time dropping the exhaust and tranny.

Sweet: Got PA Soft rolling and recoded to give her double blink hazards and kill the DRLs.
Not sweet: because I got down in the footwell to plug in the scanner to the ODC connector I solved my "why do I have OEM fog lights and no button on the LCM?" mystery. Answer: PO Micky moused and installed a 3 position switch to operate the fogs next to the ODC port. (Facepalm)

Anyone have an LCM faceplate with the fog button so I can do this correctly?!

Thats strange, PO must have installed aftermarket fogs to that switch.

However, you can get the switch panel for pretty cheap off ebay/junkyard.
Just 2 screws under the trim.
But make sure your LCM supports the fog lights.
Some cars didnt come with fog lights(it was an option I believe). Make sure you have the wiring harness and LCM compatible for the fogs.

There are some retrofit DIYs. Read on them.

Yeah I've done a lot of research on adding the, because I couldn't make sense of what the PO did. The car didn't come with them, but it's got OEM bumper and fogs. All the part numbers match. Wondering if PO just didn't know where to go from there. The LCM I have supports fogs as it's a 325. I believe the 323 LCM didn't support them (nor the rear euro fog light - which now that I need a new LCM faceplate, I may opt for the euro one so I can add the rear fog later if I choose.)

Headlight restore fail! I guess I'll pop on a new set of lenses.
