I haven't had the car very long, but I'm getting about 23 combined. Last week I did a lot of freeway driving and it was at 30.

Did a 100mile trip back to school and averaged 32mpg WITH A ROOF RACK! I kept my speed at 65mph and turned cruse control off when going down hills.

The mileage computer said I was getting 21.7 mpg on my last fill up. I checked the mileage and it was almost 24 mpg. I know the computer is always estimating, is 2 mpg normal for this thing to be off?

I was averaging 24.5MPG with an average speed of around 40MPH... Then I did a cooling system refresh and took off the mechanical fan and installed an electric fan as SolidJake posted about. Now I am averaging 26.7MPG at the same 40MPH average. Plus the car seems more responsive!

When I do straight highway, even with my foot in it a little... I am now getting around 33MPG. I was getting around 30MPG or so.

My wife gets 22-24 with mostly city driving, but at 70 or so on the freeway it will get 30+mpg all day long.

Now when we had it in Germany, I'd set the cruise at somewhere from 110-120mph in the speed free zones and even then we'd get just a shade under 20mpg which I think is darn good for an awd machine.

Oh yeah, we've never run anything other than tractor gas in it (87). We've driven the car for close to 100k like that with no ill effects- and no, I've not changed the fuel filter in it (but probably should).

23-24 city, 29-30 highway. Usually about speed limit +7.

I got about a 20% increase in mileage recently after refreshing the ccv system, plugs, and VANOS seal and rattle kit.

You are missing out on lots of power and mileage running 87 in that thing... I've found it to be a wash in terms of cost savings of regular gas vs increased efficiency of premium.

Based on the OBC, I get in the low 20s for urban driving, 24-26 mixed, and 28-31 on the highway depending on the terrain. I usually cruise at between 70 and 75.

Edit: I just got 31.5mpg on a 50 drive over Blewett Pass, about 2500 vertical ft up/down, averaging 70 mph with some aggressive passing on the uphill. :-)

2004 330xi, completely stock. Highway cruise control at 65 MPH, I get 34 MPG. Cruise control at 75 MPH I get 22 MPG if I remember correctly. Mixed driving I average 17-18 MPG according to OBC

Gas prices going up! Who's got the best MPG??

02 325xi, 5-speed m/t, bone stock. Road trips, most recent MN to CO, about 975 miles i averaged 31.8, but couldn't seem to break over 32. Around town, daily driving average 24.4, I just do the math to get my actuals, but I did reset the meter about three months ago and I'm at about 26.2 on the meter with a 50/50 mix of city/hwy.

I still can't get over 21 , new plugs, O2 sensors, unless my wife has a lead foot. I'm going to have to take a long trip with lots of highway miles to see if it improves.

Smile MPG in Chile

Hi Guys!,
I have a 330xi 2002.

Usually, I got 27 mpg driving calmly in the city. In the highway at 65-70, 32-35 mpg, considering that chile has a lot of mountains and hills, it is very good...

Anyway, when I came back from the north a couple of years ago, I got 39mpg. The trip was around 1.000 miles and the road quite flat or downhill most part of it.

The car is just amazing!!!
