class III dealer

I has a interview saturday after work. Selling silencers and machine guns... The big bonus is they are the guys that I'm doing my transfers through so I get to play with my toys every day

Hopefully I'll be hanging up my wrenches in a couple of weeks.

Does that mean you're going to be a class III dealer or you're going to work for one?

I'll be working for one starting out. I figured I want a few years under my belt before I get my FFL, just to know the everyday operations of the business.

Actually I just sold a .308 can for them today. Dropped off some rifles for shipping and talked a customer out of a slide fire and in to a $700 silencer.

It was there last .308 can but some more are being made as we speak. TJ tactical makes them in radford VA. Price is just under $700 IIRC. If your interested I can get there contact information for you.

Awesome! Being from NC would I have any issues going through you for a suppressor sale? I would like to get one set up for my G19.

Side note: Looks like me and a couple of buddies are going to be up a Smith Mountain for July 4th, let me know if you want a beer or two lol

Yup, silencers are legal in NC. I can set you up with a nice 9mm can and have it shipped to your dealer on a F3.

Thanks for the offer but I dont drink anymore. If you going to be in town around that sunday I could demo some cans and machine guns for you.

I got the job. Very excited and nervous at the same time. I know I will do good at the new place, just not looking forward to telling my boss that I'm quiting.

Congrats man! Sounds like you're going to be doing something you love to do.

It would be awesome to shoot some with you. I'll pm you if I know I'm going to be up that way. I have some buddy's at VT that are getting into guns, whats the name of your shop so I can send them your way?

If there at VT there probably going to the pandapus range. Ask them about the machine gun guy I get up there quite often on sundays.

The shop I'm going to is Safeside tactical just outside of vinton. There great guys, its going to be a good step for me. I've delt with all of the local FFL's over the years and this shop is really something different. Family owned, family run, nobody is on a high and mighty pedistol and most importatly they know how to treat people right.

I was going to wait until after I get back from vacation to give my two weeks but my service writer threatened to tell the owner if I dont in the morning. I already packed most of my box after work so I can go ahead and lock it up when I go to his office.

Today was a rather fawked up day... got the whole "SO what the problem"..... "You know todays not a good day" when I told them that I needed a hour and a half off mid day to take my 14 month old daughter to the doctor because of a fever and rash.

Our head tech was PMSing, throwing tools most of the day but he's just sad because of my leaving. When I got back from the doctors our shops owner asked how she was doing acting concerned.... It could go either way, He could think me for the work I've done and let me work out my 3 weeks ORRRR he's going to fire me before my vacation to save the paid vacation...

It's gonna suck

congrats on the new job! its always tricky leaving old jobs especially if you want to maintain a good relationship w/ ur previous employer. i am glad to hear that your not going to a shop run by douchebags, i can count on 1 hand the amount of shops i've been to that know how to treat a customer. GL

When I was a BMW tech they MADE me work my two weeks (turned top three hours while floating as a service adviser and warranty admin, pretty much the go-to guy lol). I know how it is to put your heart in to a company and have to move on, you'll be fine.

I was actually a BMW tech once long ago to. I was with them for several years before I moved to the shop I'm at now.

It will be interesting, it could go either way. He will probably find a way to fire me with in the several weeks. My BIG concern is having them push my box outside while I'm accross country on vacation. I've probably got 40k in tools in there. Last time I quit I was told to leave right THEN...

I'll have to rent a storage locker until I can clear a spot in my garage for the box. It's going to have to be moved with a roll back.....god I'm not looking forward to this.

I've got one of the 1022 snapon boxes. Should have bought a tribank but I fell in to this one at a good price. She's still a pretty beefy chunk of steel.

Dang, my dealer wasn't that hard ass about it. I have a three bay Matco with a hutch that they let me leave until I made room.

Great to hear. Will the new employer allow you to continue the gunbroker side business?

Yup, I'll be doing it for me and them. A big part of my job will be gunbroker sales.
