But this smell its not coming from VCG because there is no oil dripping but when i saw smoke was coming out but from the low part of engine passenger side . Any help will be apreciated .something else the smoke is coming all the way down below o2 sensors.

When you have a coolant leak and it gets on something hot like the heads, block, or headers, it will boil like water and makes a foul odor when vaporized. Just my experience

Pull your oil cap and look under it for whitish/yellow gel. Your dipstick may show it as well. Water emulsifies as it passes through your crankcase and leaves these deposits. It happens in areas with cold temps and builds up over the winter. It can affect the CCV (crankcase ventilation system) where oil or goo is burning giving off a strange odor noticed in the engine bay. A failing CCV or restricted line can make this worse. A long freeway or higher RPM drive followed by an oil change often corrects this until the next season. Long means a couple hour run to melt the goo out. It works.

Looks like you used a victor reinz gasket? Needs to be replaced again. Check that all valve cover bolts are snug first.

^ Agreed to check that bolts are tightened up and the gasket was aligned properly before putting valve cover on. Victor Reinz is the OEM and is fine to use.

The only thing back there that can leak onto the manifolds is the VCG unless you have a cracked block.

Over the course of my detailing career I've experienced foul odors when a "rubber treatment" detailing spray is all over the engine bay, but only lasts about a day. Just my .02

There was a bad batch of Victor Reinz gaskets that leaked. They used to be fine, but I don't recommend them anymore. Buy OE.

Weird smell come from engine when hot

I have a 03 325xi 140.xxx with this same exact problem to a t. I recently did my valve cover gasket too. I still have the same smell from the same exact area, which is only real bad when prolonged higher rpms up hills. Also I've been dabbling with an oil light on and off. What else could it be? Also considering doing valve cover gasket again as to assure properly done..

Re: Weird smell come from engine when hot

I dont think you need to redo VCG again thats from ur CCV . When u do ur oil change try to get a engine flush to clean up ur engine that can help

ok a couple of things can smell when engine is hot on the xi
first is VCG.
second is OFHG.
and third which is only on the xi is the passenger drive axle seal. if you are using an aftermarket re-manufactured drive axle thats been machined smaller than OEM, diff fluid can leak out and get on to the exhaust manifold and its a pretty nasty smell.
