What's faster dinan 330xi or zhp?

I have a Dinan 330xi.
Stage 3 software
Exhaust
Throttle body
Cold air intake
Strut bars
Stage 1 suspension

Just I have had my car for over a year now and I don't know how fast the car really is vs other bmws. Everyone around me has 323s but my 330 vs zhp how would it compete with it?

ZHP all day every day. Your suspension and strut bar don't contribute at all to your straight line speed, the CAI adds maybe (at best) 2-3hp, the throttle body doesn't really do anything unless you actually have more air flowing in somehow, the software might get you, an additional 5-10hp plus a higher top speed/rev limiter, and unless you have headers the exhaust does little to nothing. Couple all this to the fact that your car weighs a lot more and you'll lose every time unless there's something wrong with the other car.

Dinan stuff is all for the name. It's expensive and produces lackluster results compared to other options.

is this track a mud track? or perhaps is it snowing on that hypothetical track? if you answered no to both of these, sorry a zhp will pwn you every time.

You sure? I've been looking into weight and power ratio the zhp can put more down but around turns my awd will be able to hold the corners more. I think it actually close track wise.

Yes. It would be like a race between usain bolt and some fat guy.

Unless you have a LOT more work done to your Xi, you'd be royally screwed.

Not sure if you've ever driven a zhp on the street or track but it would for sure surprise you.

No I've never driven one. I have been looking up specs and trying to figure things out from that.

Are ZHP's really that much faster than regular 330s though?

No they aren't.

It's just the OP is comparing a rwd to a awd...

That's why they saying its that much faster. The awd adds weight and such.

your car being awd doesn't make it magically handle better in dry weather. The awd system does increase parasitic drivetrain loss and, due to suspension changes, raise the center of gravity of the car.

Awd causes the car to have better handling in turns though. The power is spread yes but a awd car can take a turn harder then a rwd

Not just a normal 330xi though its a dinan 330xi. So I do have more power then a normal 330. That's the thing in question a modded 330xi vs a stock zhp

This is a very arbitrary question and there are so many factors that come into play.

Tires being equal, you won't get passed by a ZHP at most tracks unless he's a better driver. xi is quicker in the wet. Nobody brings stock e46's to the track. Drivers being equal, the car with the better tires, suspension, diffs for that day at that track will be quicker.

This. Also, drivers being not equal - cars don't matter much. Quicker driver will be quicker.

Thanks for the input. I know a million factors play into a track race between two different cars. I really wanna push my car and find the true limits of the car.

No it doesn't, if anything it makes it hard to properly shift the weight of the car and allow it to rotate when going through a corner. Awd is handy when you are in low grip situations or have a crap ton of power that you can't put down easily. I dunno why I keep bashing awd, i own an xi

The awd will be able to stick to the road better. Which gives the driver better confidence. If you want to drift around a turn use rwd if you wanna stick and push the car more use awd
