Quick- is this diff oil good?

Just picked up some valvoline 75w 90 synthetic gear oil to do a diff oil change today. It's all the shop had in that weight . Is this an ok, or good oil to use? Just double checking, thanks

It does not say on the bottle if it meets BMW SAF-XO. I would recommend Redline, LiquiMoly, Motul, or BMW.

SAF-XO is a specific product, not a standard. That said I've been using Redline in my diff for the last 60k miles and its been fine, granted I change it every 40k.

Redline states that it meets BMW SAF-XO. Same with the others I listed. I use Redline also.

Much ado about nothing! The requirement is GL5 gear oil. So, any synthetic should be more than adequate! Don't think you'll find any better than Redline.

Yes, Valvoline is fine. I'd run either the Valvoline you bought or Mobile One 75w90.

Redline will need to be drained more often, but is otherwise fine.
