M3 15k oil intervals

I just discovered a disturbing thing...I purchased an 02 M3 with 130k about 2 months ago. Did a PPI and I had a friend test drive the car with me in passenger seat ( I have a broken ankle). Anyway, everything was fine inside and out. Im planning to change all oils/fluids, valve adjustment (last done @ 90k) check vanos etc. as soon I can drive at the end of this month. PO showed/gave me a long history of service receipts all from BMW dealership. I said to myself well thats good oem parts its whole life...but then today I went back and looked closely and realized the oil changes were done on average every 13k miles like the stealership suggest. This is my fourth BMW and I never went more than 6k w/out changing the oil and never had problem. This was a big oversight on my part and now im a lil worry. Can somebody ease my mind? How bad is that? I guess im going to find out when we do the valve adjustment but in the meantime.....

Re: M3 15k oil intervals

Ok im a lil confused....personally I never looked at the obc computer bars when it came to oil changes...I used the actual mileage on the car....by looking at the receipts I was going by mileage recorded of the car at the time of service in this case every 13k....am I missing something?

Its not going to be a big deal.

For others - note that there is a difference between HAVING "all records" and READING the records. There is a growing trend that just having those records is enough.

It is a little confusing, but I believe what the post is saying is every 7550 "OBC Miles" change your oil. So for the 15k service interval you should change your oil 2x per full cycle.

You'll be just fine with those oil changes, crack your valve cover and look inside or hell even just open your oil filler cap and shine a light in there and inspect. My cams are a little dirty, so I am going to change the oil at 3k intervals 5x during the 15k service cycle and try to clean it up a bit, then I will return to probably 6k oil changes. I don't drive much living downtown so the 5 changes will probably take me over a year lol.

And no problem, that's what these forums are supposed to be for, helping each other out and learning from others. I'm sick of all the dicks and elitist ****s on this forum ruining it so I try to lend a hand where I can. I will be blunt when a question that has been asked a billion times and tell em to search lol.
