Careful. It seems Fran has "groupies" that will come to his defense.

Seriously tho...that IS one nice car, and if I hadnt just upgraded from my E30, I would have shot him an offer, but it would have been $17k.

Regards.

Cute, LOL on the groupies Gasturbine and thanks for the compliments on my car...

It's this simple boys and guys, I have no need to sell it, I kick this thread every so often just because.

Under $20K I have no interest at all, it's just a minimal amount of money in the grand scheme of things. Driving it a handful of times a year gives me more pleasure than $17K will. Disassembling it to part it out makes no sense to to me either. Too much work for too little money.

As I mentioned earlier, if someone were to buy an 01 like mine stock in the same condition, they'd spend $10-$11k. If they then bought a TS supercharger, they'd be at $17K with a blown transmission and a car sitting in the garage with not enough funds to put in a proper clutch setup.

If you aren't interested in buying a car, not really sure why you are looking at this thread with your one post.....

People that can afford to mod without a qualm of dollars spent will understand this post better. Ironically, my guess is that this post will bring more dreamers to chime in.

The young boy-racers can keep dreaming.....the young boy groupies can now chime in on my thread, helps visibility in the google searches

Thanks for the interest,

The car beats my buddies E46 M3

But the consideration for me when I bought this car new in 2001 was that I didn't want the M3. I wanted to create a "Fran3" so here she sits

The never-ending powerband with torque building from 2200RPM's is what sets this care apart from the M3 for me. Change the diff on this car to a 3.38 or higher and you have yourself a beast of a different breed.

I love everything about this car, I'm a little sad to see you selling it. I'm happy you're not giving it away, because then it will go to a good home. Wish I could buy it.

Thanks guys.

Been driving it these past few weeks while the 530 was in the shop. It is a blast to drive!

Had the nose resprayed on the 530i to do away with 168,000 miles of road rash. While I was at it, threw an M5 OEM front and rear bumper on it, molded in some fog light deletes and made the brake duct vents functional.

Still putting it back together but here's a pic:

Wow, the fog delete work looks factory. Nice job! Do you do your own painting?

No Ray. Had a shop spray it. I was really impressed, nothing like fresh black paint. They took the hood down to metal, sprayed the fenders and front and rear bumpers for $1500, the charge for molding in the fog deletes were another $100. Unmolded the fog deletes look like this:

Absolutely beautiful car. Modded with class, the way I would want it done.

Truly beautiful car, very tastefully modded, love that interior!

Can I ask what lights you are running for front turns? I am guessing OEM?
