On a good day i can do that if i really push. Last weekend i got 295x2 but realized when getting that high that my lower back hasn't healed fully yet.

Nonetheless and my excuses aside, nothing is better than some friendly competition to help push us. First 315 pound squat with video proof wins?

I don't know about this coming weekend, but the next weekend at the latest I'll check where i am. There's a few things in my lower body routine that need to be changed

Re: What do you bench?

Are you breathing properly while you're lifting? Or does it feel like your head it's about to pop at the end of a rep?

My guess is you're holding your breath and creating "pressure" during your lift....

Put up 265lbs today, we will call that a natural PR.

I definitely feel I can go a little heavier.

What do you bench?

Haven't benched with a barbell in years, other than close-grip bench presses for my tris... But my dumbbell bench press from a couple weeks ago was 100lbs (each hand) for 10 reps.

It's a good feeling pumping out the 100s isn't it?

Re: What do you bench?

I never really do flat db presses. I mix in some db flys on chest day, and dabble with incline presses but don't like them because they seem to hit the shoulders more. You've got me curious now.

The main problem I foresee having with that kind of weight is dropping it safely after I'm done.

Well the thing I like about DB presses is that it really works ALL the stabilizing muscles in and around your chest / arm. That feels real good.

If you give out completely, just drop them, but once you completed your set, twist them parallel to your body, lift up your knees, and "swing" up that way so you finish the way you started, with the weights on your knees.

Got up 275 today, a new 1RM, I am racing myself to 315, will I get there first with bench or squats, at 275 with both right now??

I hope it's squats otherwise that would be pretty pathetic. I am changing my leg day strategy, lighter weight, more reps, concentrate on form, only went up to 225 this week.

Had a PR today. I've done 225x1 before however I was able to put up two sets of 3. (Assisted lift off and assisted on last rep of the second set.) Good feeling. Looking forward to added 5 to each side of the two plates.
