Sold my '03 325Ci

Sold my car today. Will take it off of carsales in the next couple of days once I bank the cheque.

Now I need another car. Struggling between being practical and wanting an M3 I posted about wanting an M3 ages ago but the budgetary outlook isn't as good as it was.

Saw this M3 on ebay. Was hoping to hold out for a 2003+ M3 with a few less Kms. I might take a look to see what the interior is like.

http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...1093346/?Cr=24

The price gives it some headroom for the SMG breaking plus other costs.

I should really be getting a wagon... or something roomier with lower maintenance.

A coupe with a folding metal hardtop? And an E60 at that.. What have you been smoking?!

The M3 you linked to looks clean. I wouldn't worry about 121kkms either depending on how many ks you think you'll put on it.

Is this going to be a daily or a weekend car?

I meant it to be 2 separate statements, both wrong in their own special way.

What I meant to write was choose between an
e92 (coupe)
or
e93 (folding hard top)

I couldn't have got it more wrong

Ya get that!

More a weekend than a daily. It is a second car. I sometimes get lazy and start driving to work rather than train or riding.

Edit: the other options are a 335 sedan or maybe a 330. For practical options there are wagons. I test drove a 323 touring but it was in bad condition. I am yet to look at a VW passat r36 wagon or a volvo v50 wagon. I just can't tear myself away from the need to have an e46 m3.

I got near-ish to the asking price. The photos don't do it justice for the condition of the interior and paint. A couple of people commented how bad a condition other 325's they looked at were in.

Congrats on the sale! Even better that you got the money that you were after... How long did it take to sell?

I'm in a similar position mate, I catch the train during the week so the M3 generally sits in the garage. I don't know if I'd want one as a daily just due to potential maintenance costs and putting too many K's on them. A 335 would be a better daily I reckon.

I chose the M3 as it was always a realistic dream car for me and I knew I'd regret it if I didn't take up the opportunity to own one. The 335/135 don't seem that special, you can own one anytime but I don't think (and I'm a bit bias) there will be many opportunities in the future to own a car quite like the e46 M3.
