Power and squeaky problems!!!

Hi everyone ,

I have a few problems !! Whilst driving to work I heard a squeak coming from my front driver's wheel , but it only squeaks when I turn the wheel to the right ever so slightly ??? And the second problem is as I was accelerating this morning in 2nd or 3rd gear I had a sudden complete loss of power with the warning triangle caption then it picked it self up again ?? Any ideas peeps

p.s its a 53 plate 320d.

Usually the warning triangle is for your traction/stability control. Mine sometimes goes on when I'm accelerating over a rough patch in the road or when it's wet out - read your owners manual.

A squeaky front wheel can be anything...need more info. Have you jacked up the car and tried to recreate the noise again?

Re: Power and squeaky problems!!!

If it occurs where you cant drive or start your car,try disconnecting your maf sensor. Or better yet,try it now and see if it happens again

Re: Power and squeaky problems!!!

Do you think that the vehicle stability sensor has anything to do with it? ?

Have you just changed your tyres? I googled your issue and one thread mentioned new tyres that needed to be broken in

Again, I get the same thing when my tyres slip...I think if the light stays on you may have issues? Do you have any codes SES on?

Can you describe this in more detail? When it happens? Frequency?

Re: Power and squeaky problems!!!

The squeak only happens when you turn the steering wheel to right slightly whilst driving and the power loss is infrequent

Martin, I just bought an '04 330Ci with a 6 speed and I have one shared issue. Does this sound like what yours is doing - All is fine, then you hit a rough/slippery/sand/gravel that causes minor traction loss, the TC takes over, fist noted only by the light flashing, then the light stays on and power is pulled (assuming by TC) for 4-5 seconds, then it gets over it and light goes off and power is back. Just today I was trying to sort this issue, and have found that it hasn't occurred while TC is OFF, and once I turned TC off as soon as it pulled power and the issue immediately went away (possibly coinciding with the TC getting over the issue). I just found your post, so I will look for your broken component on mine in the AM, but I don't know what it is. I don't mind driving without TC, my challengers rear end is much more lively, but I prefer to keep all systems functioning properly.
