NoVA/DC/SoMD: cash + booze for help with vanos + oil pan removal

posted this on M3forum, too...been sending PMs to several members there, as far as 500 miles away (lol) to get help with my oil pan removal to search for the broken exhaust hub.

Haven't touched my M3 for months Help a brother get back into his car!

VANOS service + remove the broken tab are the main things I need, and in the process, the following list of parts to r&r as preventive maintenance:

Parts list:
- turbo toy exhaust hub
- VANOS maintenance (includes soleniod, sealing plate, filter, seals, etc.)
- oil pan gasket
- fan clutch, pulleys and belts (cold screeching sound I want to get rid of)
- guibo
- CPV...going to get that upgraded o-ring if that dude from obioban's thread responds
- engine and tranny mounts
- FCABs
- front swaybar endlinks
- PS reservoir/line
- rod bearings + bolts
- oil + filter

about $1,100 in OEM parts

looking to spend $600 + your fave liquor (which I can pick up duty free on my next trip to Canada ) in labor if humanly possible (open to offers from reliable members).

I'll also show you my collection of n00dz

Talk to 99mpower on bimmerforums. There's a lot of stuff there that isn't quite in the same job. For example...oil pan gasket, rod bearings, engine mounts, and maybe even fcab go together. But not guibo/exh hub/trans mounts. Newm3fan is another good guy to ask.

I might be able to help with a chunk of it but certainly not all of it. Is the car drivable?

Hey thanks bud. Yeah the car is driveable, but avoiding it as much as possible until the hub is replaced. I'll reach out, thanks.

Yeah, I recognize some of the stuff is different, especially the pulleys/belts/vanos (which includes the hub in my mind) but that's why I separated vanos vs. oil pan in my request.

Will let u know what I hear back! Thanks again.

The way I see it divided is 3 chunks:
Oil pan and engine mounts, PS line, etc
Trans mount and guibo
Vanos and pulleys

I'm happy to do the trans mount and guibo for you if you can leave it at my parents house for a few days during the week. I could do the eng mounts and opg as well but TBH I do not feel like doing it and am not comfortable w doing rod bearings. If you can't find anybody else to do the opg stuff I can consider doing it...same with vanos.
