1, ok does get more life out of it, just make sure you have backed up data, then back it up again, then test it!

2, Nope, use the links I posted above to get a Win7 iso, then you make it legal with your key on bottom of laptop.

3, Yes, but with blank SDD/HDD it should recognise no OS on the new drive and ask for bootable media.

Just saying that yeah you can use the old disk until it craps out, but make sure to backup data.

You won't need to buyWin7 again as you have the COA http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Win...=1920&bih=1033 already and can use a Win7 install disc to reinstall, you burn the disc yourself from this image http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-58997.iso Or even use your recovery discs if you burnt them before.

Yes that is the ISO for the full version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (the most common type)

Run the disc with the new SDD and it will prompt you for the license key written on the COA stuck to the bottom of your laptop, pays to get a photo or write the number down to avoid lifting the laptop up mid install.

Not normally!

Even If it is, should be a case of spamming F12 when booting, which (on most PC's load a boot menu)

Well you could install W7 on the SSD now, change the HDD for the SDD and run the disc.

I'd say go for that, if it all works then great, if not then the correct part can be replaced (new is not necessarily good!)
