iono, only if you need a tablet form factor. i mean if you have no need for one, just get a regular ultrabook. it's all the same guts as a 1200 ultrabook. it's just in a tablet form factor. the form factor and the fact that it run full windows is why i got it. it feels like any ultrabook tbh. it's actually faster than the sony t series ultrabook lol overall i think it's worth it for my usage.
I would get it mostly for school stuff and to carry around instead of my laptop really.

honestly, for that, i would just pick up a light ultrabook/mac air. it's going to be just as light and will do the same things. some of the ultrabooks are like under 700 bucks (the sony t series that i picked up recently for my dad)

or i guess you can pick up the normal surface. lasts even longer and is even thinner and lighter, but doesn't run full windows. but for school, what do you need? browsing, office, some kind of pdf reader for books. that's it, the normal surface will do that just fine.

but it works great for what i'm doing with it.

yeah, that's what the category is called. the galaxy note and all the 5"+ screen phones basically fall under that category.

i'm not going to need a 5" screen lol i already deemed a 7" too small for the tablet form factor. and 4.5"+ is too big for a phone lol a phablet sits right in the middle of what i don't want lol

yeah i only like the interface if you have a touch screen. without it, it's actually more cumbersome to use. especially with pulling up the charms and crap.

iono i think the surface would be fine. it just has very limited selection of apps. the screen isn't as great. but you do get more battery life and it's even thinner and lighter than the surface pro. and even comes with full office for free.

the difference in thickness isn't even that big. you know touch cover? that's the difference lol but the weight difference is definitely noticeable between the two. but it weighs as much as the lightest ultrabooks still.

the nexus 7 would be fine too as long as you're not expecting to do heavy work on it. i don't like the android OS that much (other than it being more open than ios). i'd rather have an ipad tbh.
