I've been talking about switching back to ambers, and I know there will be haters. I just wanted to throw on the originals and see how it looks again, its been about 7 years since ambers have been on.

Before:

After:

Hoenstly, I think the ambers pop way more. I'll be leaving them on for the time being. Next would be LED tails, I have found a few sets on the classifieds. Not sure If I want to go clear LED or amber LED??

Here is a better interior shot of the new alcantara steering wheel. Triangle steering wheel FTW!

the amber pops up, but you dont want to have a look based on just the ambers. as a whole, they wont match your clean theme. You need to get everything back including sides and rear ambers. There is another thing that even my wife noticed. the amber pops contrats, but they look outdated. If can you get an LED version of them, then you would have the best of both worlds. Loving your car. keep up the good work.

I have the original amber rear tails as well, just haven't decided on anything yet. Ultimately I would like LED tail lights. I should've pulled the trigger on a LED tail light set last week.

Nevertheless, still a work in progress. It never ends.

Dude, i love the amber! ( off course haha)
Just pop in the oem ambers on the sides and rear and get the led red/amber version!

Haters gonna hate, but i love it and think the all white and smoke has been done to death....

Keep it up!

Btw.. The steering wheel retrim is very nice as well!

Yesterday we had out first Dutch Bimmerfest (1200+ cars). Mine looked like this.
Many member who hated on my ambers from seeing pics, complimented me on the look on real life...

Looks good! I would personally get some clears... ambers look to dated. OEM clears are the way to go! And yes... definitely get that front Mtech bumper soon. It'll complete the look! haha

Agree with Matt on this one Jon. You will be amazed just how good your car will look with clears all around!

I have the smoked corners, and I just wasn't feeling it anymore. I guess I'll have to invest in some clear corners, and obviously the clear LEDs.

You guys are breakin' mah balls

I like your ARC-8s. I also prefer the flatter look to the concave treatment...looks more race car, IMO. I've got some 18x9s on order myself, and Conti DW 245/35-18s, so your car gives me a good idea of what mine will look like. Keep up the tasteful mods.

Here's a pic of my still box-stock 325i. It'll get the H&R/Bilstein Sport treatment shortly after the wheels.

Thanks for the words Doug 18x9 will look great as well. That's what I originally wanted to do, but ended up getting 17x9. It was nice to save a couple hundred dollars on the wheels and tires as well, LOL. You will love them! I've been trying to clean mine almost daily. Sonax FTW!

My other set of ACS Type III will be sold this weekend, should definitely help offset the cost of the Apex's

I almost bought the 17x9s, as they're lighter and I'm a big believer in keeping the unsprung weight down to retain the agile feel. But I'd bet even the 18s are lighter than the stock 16-in. alloys! A few more $$$$ for both wheels and tires when you go 18s, but I have a pretty short commute so I can keep the miles down.

Nice that you found a buyer for the ACS wheels. I think they're great-looking too, so the new owner should be happy.

Small update:

Decided to ditch the BMW Performance shift knob. (Will be for sale next week - PN: 25110429267)

Went with OEM Illuminated Shift Knob (5-speed), comes with wiring kit as well. (Pn: 25119415379) Wanted something a little more ergonomic. It arrives tomorrow.

Also purchased a new puller fan for my car. It's been blazing hot on the east coast this past week, and I think my 13 year old electric fan is starting to finally give out. I hear it cutting in and out when I have the AC button on. And when it cuts out the AC doesn't work, and becomes muggy. I dont think its the wiring or fuses because all of that was checked when my AC system was checked @ RRT, said no leaks in the system, it holds pressure etc. They told me the fan was starting to act up though, so might as well just be safe and get a new one now. (PN: 17117561757)

You can get an illuminated ZHP knob from German Ebay at a great price.
I picked one up last year

Hi Don

I previously had a ZHP knob, but didn't like the "shorter" style. I will be receiving the shift knob and fan this afternoon

Well here it is

Install was very easy, shift knob came with wiring kit. I used this DIY: http://www.argyrides.eu/bmw/accessor...knob/shift.htm

Crap dark picture:

I also replaced my puller fan since it started to act up after 13 years of hard work. Another easy install, simply remove the power harness, fuse box, (1) T20 screw, and (1) rivot. Just slides right up. I used this DIY for the electric fan: http://www.impee.co.uk/radiatorfan_change.htm (only up to step 11, no need to raise the car. No rivots on the bottom)
