Thanks man... today is going to be one for the record books. ~$600 of seafood and prime beef. One of my friends is coming over who cooks at Oceana in NYC, so we have been basically ping ponging ideas back and forth and we have a few that should come out pretty good.

More to come......

It's been a while for me too. I haven't even taken pictures of most of the stuff I've been cooking. Here is a piece of hangar steak that I cooked, it just a pretty simple dry rub on it.

Cooked, rested:

Pictures might not be the best, but here it is sliced, and a closer one of it sliced. I should toss these into the BBQ thread as well.

I tried to make sure that the meat was cooked, evenly, without over cooking the outside and leaving a big grey ring. It's hard to tell with the pictures, but this is rare/very rare from almost edge to edge.

I was in a a Mexican mood so I threw it in a shell with grilled onions, grilled peppers, seasoned rice, chipotle sour cream and tossed it in the panini press for a few mins. I opted not to cut it for a cross section picture. Instead here is a few bites in.

I really have no clue what I ate, and you probably have a better knowledge of food than me, so I'll just leave you with a link to the menu: http://www.allmenus.com/ca/oakland/2...a-garden/menu/

I was so new to the food, I didn't know how to even some or dip which food in what sauce.
