I was wondering when we're likely to see the new Explorers doing CHP duty? I've seen some very shiny Crown Vics of late with exempt plates in the 14XXXXX series but you guys must be running low on your stockpile of them?

Hmm...not sure. I think they're supposed to start trickling out to the offices around the state. Last I heard, we only had about 200 "new" crown vics left but that was like 5 months ago. Who knows now...

Good to know. I've been practicing my headlight recognition skills in anticipation but there are WAY less Explorers on the road than Crown Vics. I wonder how much more effective they will be in nabbing folks at night in the early days?

I'm quite sad to see the old CVPIs go. I know they are older than time itself but there is something very menacing about one of them in full cop dress up.

Were all the CHP officers at Bimmerfest this weekend? In the mini-caravan we had coming back up I-5 not a single peep from our V1s nor any eyeballs on the constabulary.

I drove through the Coalinga area twice last weekend, South on Thursday and North on Saturday and thought of Frobie both times, even if he doesn't patrol that area now. I was going slightly over the limit most of the trip Southbound, but under the car limit Northbound because I was driving a U-haul on the return.

Nice. So which Costco do you live near? Kifer or Coleman?

used to live between one on Kifer (Sunnyvale) and one on Rengstorff (Mountain View). Now closest one is on Alamden Expressway in San Jose, not that close.

Frobie do you patrol I5 at all? I was heading up 5north on the 22nd going about 90 when a CHP car came up behind me was expecting to get pulled over so I changed lanes but he came up along side of me instead gave me the hang loose and took off. I want to say it was around the Coalinga area.

Does a dark-tint ticket apply to the car or the driver? Wondering because I'll be driving my friend's car and can't afford any more tickets! Thanks

It should be issued to the registered owner, however it may be issued to the driver.

So, in case you all haven't figured out, I'm not so frequently on the forum anymore. Something about a marriage, a full time job, and five kids will occupy your time.....

I'm hoping to make it on here more often than once a year from now on. Sorry to those who sent private messages and never got response. Hope your questions and issues got sorted out.

Have I missed anything fun?

Anyone know if the city of Anaheim, Garden Grove, and Westminster dropped the red light camera ticket?
I'm from Ventura and about 2 weeks ago I was in OC (I don't know what city I was in). I was turning right on a red light and I saw a flash. I guess its from the red light camera.
It was off the intersection on Magnolia and Trask (there's an In N Out there)
Well I haven't receive the ticket yet but who knows... I'm wondering if one of those cities dropped the red light camera ticket.

Three step kids, two of my own. All three years apart from 13 down to one. It's crazy and hectic, but fun. It would be even more fun if I had decent days off from work and could spend some time with them at home on the weekends! You'd think that with ten years on I could get a decent shift and days off!
