M Track Days at CoTA in Austin

I have a very good friend who sells BMW's in west Texas. She came into town two weeks ago for a training event at the new Circuit of The Americas Formula One track in Austin. With a little luck and persuasiveness she was able to get me in

I drove every car in the M series lineup through a slalom course plus a Porsche Panamera Turbo and a Mercedes CLS63 AMG. No surprise the Bimmers blew them both away. Mercedes was fast in a straight line but do NOT try to turn - the Porsche was great once it got going but turbo-lag was almost 3 seconds.

However, the new M6 Gran Coupe' was the most incredible car I've ever had the pleasure to drive! A BMW School of Performance Driving instructor took us for 2 "hot-laps", then we got to get in our own cars and follow a leader around the track for 3 laps. I hit 147 on the straightaway

Anyway, here's a link to a British racer putting the car through the paces I will upload some pics but need to compress them first!!
