Nice pick up Alec! Love the barges - tempted to pick up another E66 760Li (individual model this time) myself - miss my last one!

love this benz era.

my mom had a 1993 190e 2.6 when I was like 10, and I would always fight with her saying the e30 is better. lol

then I saw a dtm and was like ok mom you win.

Thanks for the good words guys. Yesterday I finally got around to replacing the door striker / 'locking eye,' so finally the door opens and closes all the way. I also lubed all the hinges while I was at it.

Minor progress is still progress, right?

Looking good man. I get to tear into mine tomorrow to try and fix the power lock actuator in the driver's door.

Just bought my final part for the vacuum system on this thing. It's a metal flange that surrounds the boot that connects the warm up regulator to the throttle body. Dealership wanted $200, so I waited 2 months and eventually found one for $80. Yayyyyy Mercedes wooO!!!!

Took some more pics today to show original condition of the interior. I've done some random cleaning on all the carpet pieces under the dash, and all the vents cleaned out with a brush and class cleaner. So, nothing has been aired out or vacuumed yet.

driver front door trim and switch, bad shape

i like these clusters, they look really nice stock

took the rear/center headliner piece down, it was just dangling by the dome light

The back seat has this weird crusty pink staining all over the place. That will be fixed once it's driving, I have 'a guy' for that

both B-pillars need to be taken off and reglued

passenger front also needs the wood trim and seat switch replaced

dash wood is VERY unhappy, across the board

wood glue

more wood glue

That's gonna be an awesome project - real sense of pride getting this majestic car back to former glory

Have fun and good luck with it!

I love it. Your multiple projects still beg the question though... when are you going to afford your real dream car if you don't save? I promise you that if you start selling cars and do well, you'll have your big wing Porsche in no time if you live frugal and save as much as possible.

Love it Alec! Looking forward to more updates! Question though: those black wheels aren't stock are they? I find they kinda cheapen the look of the car, IMHO. I'd be wanting to tear those wheels apart and get them re-done all silver, but that's just me.

They're factory BBS/AMG wheels. They came silver originally but the PO had them painted black back in the '90s. I still have the receipt for that lol.

I'll definitely repaint or change them eventually. I have a couple good wheel guys who do top quality refinishing for $50 cash per wheel. Not currently high on my list though.

The transition is currently in the works. I'm in a position now where my rent is $510/month instead of $850, so that will make me a hell of a lot more comfortable where I am. When more money starts coming in, it shouldn't be a problem to save up while doing what I'm doing. I don't spend a lot of money on my cars, but when I have enough money saved, I do buy about $1000 of parts at a time instead of putting it away. But still, the majority of my extra money goes to beer and food (huge shock, I know) so I'll need to slow that down before anything else if I want to start saving
