Wow, this show is incredibly nuanced.

If you go back to Season 4, Episode 8, Gus is called in to have a chat with the DEA where he explains why his fingerprints were in Gail's apartment.

In the scene where he is in the elevator, you can see his fingers twitching and he looks nervous/worried for the first time in the show. The do a closeup on his face. In the background, you can here the elevator chiming at each floor, but the chime sounds an awful lot like the bell used by the wheelchair guy and as the trigger for the bomb that eventually kills him.

If it was intentional, that is some crazy foreshadowing.

I believe it.

That season was excellent.

I can't wait for these last 8 episodes. It's going to be awesome!

Somewhat like the Sopranos ending.

We have some time before the next season. I enjoyed watching Sopranos again, found this interesting over analysis-yet-still fun blog:

BB is one of the best shows I've ever seen. I recently watched from episode 1 through s5e8 in a row. The acting and realism is top notch. The final 8 episodes are going to be so epic.

Just finished it as well (again)... love this show but I should have waited until June/July to watch it to hype me up for season 6

I'm sorta leaning against the whole Walt dying thing, unless they are going to fast forward the story at least 1-2 years into the future.

In S5, we saw Walt sitting at the diner celebrating a birthday (I think it was 52, but I don't remember); so we know he lives at least another year out. It's the episode where he has a big gun in his trunk, and looks alone and disturbed.

I don't know if they have fast forwarded into the future before, but that sort of discontinuity would leave a lot of time unaccounted for.

Thus, between that and the alternate macabre possibility of all of Walt's family/friends dying/leaving him; I think the latter is more likely.

I'm guessing Walt's family finds out (son included), and they leave him. Those close to him die (possibly Jesse).

Possible scenario, although I wouldn't bank on it:

Hank confronts Walt and Jesse, and Hank ends up killing Jesse. Walt, in a fit of rage, ends up killing Hank unintentionally (just wants to hurt him, but ends up falling wrong or something like that). Walt's wife finds out, and takes the family and leaves. Walt is now left alone, and has beef against some external forces (some mafia/cartel). Hence why he is alone on a diner on his birthday, with a big gun in the trunk.

That's how I would have wrote it. But who knows.

I doubt they will kill Jesse. They already killed, Mike (a beloved character).

Just went back to watch this scene and nice catch! I ended up re watching that whole season again because of this. Gus Fring has been one of the best villains on this show so far.

my prediction is that the diner scene back in the beginning of the season is moments before a huge firefight in which walt meets his end
