Yes.. And if I owned an M3 I'd also de badge that as well... I buy my cars for me, not for what other people think.

OP, I know your type though. The guy that's goose necking all around to make sure everyone is looking at his car when he drives by.

What, a 330 automatic. Did not know they make automatics in 330. Thought anyone serious about BMW went with manual.

I think debadging a 330i is a sleeper kind of thing, just like not debadging a supercharged 325i. And someone on here made a good point in saying you can get a 330 for under $7,000, so go with your style. If you debadge an M3 or ZHP though I don't approve.

Funny thread. 330s are fast and demand respect? Wtf. Hahaha. My 330 is the slowest car I've ever owned, I bought it for a cheap run about that I can mod without worrying if I destroy it.

I'd like to keep my badging(despite being a 325), but move the "325xi" left a bit and add "T" to the end. Or, an "s" when I decide to go with FI.

umm, you won't find me arguing on the 330 stats here, but just to clarify..not sure if you know the specs on the E46 M3?
because according to the stats i found on the Jaguar you're referring to, nah that Jaguar does not "eat" the E46 M3.
http://www.edmunds.com/jaguar/xf/2013/

"The XF 3.0 carries the new supercharged V6.. A 0-60 time of around 5.7 seconds is expected.
The XF Supercharged packs a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 ..In Edmunds testing, this engine propelled the car up to 60 mph in a quick 4.5 seconds. A modified version of this engine in the XFR produces.. zero to 60 mph to be in the low 4-second range.
"

maybe the newest supercharged V8 XFR, but that's a $90,000 sports sedan.

also no these older generation BMW E46 M3s aren't extremely fast, but it still holds a Very respectable time to this day on the list of the quickest around the Nurburgring.

My 330ci isn't the fastest car I've owned but I love the sound of an inline. When my auto blows I am doing a manual swap but not because I'm a fast and furious wannabe street racer but because autos are expensive and never last. This is certainly not the fastest car but one of the best looking cars I've owned. E46 is the perfect bodystyle IMHO.

What do you consider fast then? Are you talking 1/4 mile times? Or top end speed? An e46 M3 will dip into the high 12s with some sticky tires and nothing else... Is that not fast? And what Jaguar are you talking about? The base "non supercharged" runs mid 14s... Lol unless I read your post wrong?

If you'll eventually pay for and do a manual swap, consider doing it now to enjoy it that much longer. You're in for a total treat to drive this engine hooked up to a manual. And I believe even the five speed would be plenty thrilling.

And agree 100% about the esthetics!

Maybe you forgot for a moment that a three series is an entry level luxury car that happens to be a bit sporty.

I have a 2001 330 and I absolutely love driving this car. I don't care that its not the fastest it drives and corners like a dream. I also own a 2012 mustang with the 305hp v6 with a 6 speed manual sports package and all. I drive on dutchess county NY roads and when I want to have fun on the winding roads and enjoy driving, I don't even consider the mustang. Driving an e46 is just pure pleasure . My son has the option of choosing either car when he turns 16 in a few months and he has already picked the E46. These cars are just so enjoyable to drive!!

I debadged my 330ci because it looks a lot cleaner in my opinion. Honestly out side of the e46 community no one knows the difference, and the e46 community who would know the difference would know the accessories like exhaust tips, gauge rings, brakes, etc that are all specific to the 330. I'm not looking to impress people with my car, I'm looking for a fun enjoyable driving experience and I think the degbadged look is a lot cleaner! Just my .02 cents worth

Everybody is going all over the place with this thread. All I asked was should I debage it or not. I guess the topic lends itself to various debate. Vote people, because in the end I will do whatever the final tally says. A little aside... when I first bought my car I was looking for an auto cause I really didn't know too much about the E46. I just loved the way it looked. Deriving attention from a car? man I hit that phase years ago when I owned Camaros and mustangs with loud throaty exhaust and such. Plus being a former competitive bodybuilder got me all the attention I needed lol. And my self esteem was statisfied through my intelletual and spiritual pursuits. So, no, I really couldn't care less. I mean we all want to own nice things, but I don't need others to oohhh and aaahhh over it. I just enjoy modding and taking something and making it suit my tastes/needs. Some don't, I do.
So since we're on the topic... what's on my wish list?
I think I wanna do a badge delete (pending the outcome of this vote lol)
A custom quad exhaust,
A M3 rear diff/subframe swap,
when the auto blows...
A 6 spd from an M3,
and finally, if I really treat myself,
An AA supercharger, ofcourse I realize I need to beef up the frame prior to this.
And those are just the major items, but I would be one happy camper!
