Help needed with something simple

Hey everyone I am new here, and I have finally begun to modify my bmw, one of the first installs I have done was adding a dynavin d99 system. It has gone smooth for the most part until I put the car back together and couldn't get my locks to work and my trunk release to work, I also think it is responsible for my taillight indicator.

I realized there was a cable (red gray) with a brown ground cable that wasn't hooked up to anything. Sounds simple, but I literally have searched the web and have been looking at my install for hours and cannot figure out where it goes. It is taped to the same strand of cables as the cigarette lighter but it has no where to plug into. Any help would be appreciated I have been working on this for far too long and need to get moving. I have attached pictures so you can see what I am referring to. Thanks in advanced Click image for larger version

That's what I'm thinking, well any idea where I could reconnect the wires so that I am getting power? I imagine I could splice them with another power source...thanks for your help man

After further investigation, I don't think the cable matters much? I think it is for the cigarette lighter bulb and doesn't have much to do with the power locks which just started working again? Can anyone confirm this? My trunk release isn't working but the cables in the back are cut right now, working on a rear view camera install!

Yes it doesn't matter.. its for the cigarette lighter bulb.. and it does nothing more than to power just that bulb... and probably your car has been pre-wired for that.. so it will be a simple DIY ( plug and play ) if you should decide to equip it with that in future...

* Which of your trunk release?? the one in car (driver side) next to the hood release or the one on the trunk itself????

Boboshanti, it's the one in the back, I believe it's because the wiring is disconnected as I am having to wait so I can finish the reverse camera set up, I disconnected the left license plate light cable so I can splice the wires with together with the power for the camera. Hope I didn't screw that up. If you have any thoughts let me know. Thank you for your help!

well i never had issues with mine as i was installing my reverse camera.. but i will suggest you get done with the camera and fix all back and if that still dont work, you troubleshoot that alone..

I think you have struggled a lot with it please visit the showroom or any other private garage to fix it up. Or else you will do more harm to your system and car too.
