Finally Installed My Rear Speakers

I finally installed my Polk Audio DB651s Speakers in the rear deck. While they sound good, I'm still missing that deep bass. I will have to install a subwoofer at a later date. I have an aftermarket Kenwood receiver.

I used the Crutchfield BMW speaker mounting brackets which came with no instructions. I installed them with some metal screws with a hex head (#10 1.5 inches) and washers (factory ones were too short).

I also had to replace some missing seat anchors.

looks clean man. definitely installed better than mine, i ghetto wired the rear 2 and broke the speaker grilles -_-

if you are looking for quality bass, I'd highly recommend kickers. I have 2 10's in the spare tire well of my XI, really hits hard.

nice work and good luck

Nice job! The black thingamabobs add a nice contrast.

Polk makes good speakers. Good choice. I am always a fan of 2+ way speakers

Looks great! I'm about to do mine and was hoping that the rears could be done without removing the entire deck.

Its tight, but I was able to do the install without removing the headrests. Took about 45 minutes because I took my time not to hit the window with the ratchet.

pinoybmr3 - Were your speakers flush when sitting in the OEM basket? Mine were and they I put the modified bracket and tightened them all the way. I had no problem with clearance. Do you have any pictures?

With only midbass in a HiFi equipped BMW you will almost certainly want some type of subwoofer addition for the low end. If you need install help or anything let us know! We also have our direct fit d110.e46c subwoofer as well!
