Odd occurrence with SES and idle

I could not think of a particular search so ill just post And see if I get lucky.

I just finished washing the exterior only, no engine spray at a car wash myself. I drive off and take freeway. I decide to step on it to ur the engine a bit. The car sputters and the SES light comes on. I exit the freeway and everywhere I stop the engine ideals rough at 500 rpm. I make it to the store I planned to stop at. I shut off the car and restart it. SES light is off and it is running fine.

Anyone experience this or have ideas what may have caused this odd occurrence?

Thank you in advance for any input.

Need to find out what codes were set. Did the light flash? Most likely a misfire. If the light is off, a handheld will probably not see the code, only a GT1/ISID (or equivalent) can at that point.
