So it's been four weeks since over looked at this thread and I've now copy and pasted my updates from locate forum, my bad.
Anywhoo Spent Sunday getting the car back on the ground, all the brakes have been finalised and welded on. Car rolls freely which I'm stoked with. Also started to make a front reo:

Also smashed my smg gearbox to pieces so I can cut the bell housing:

BMW Australia quoted me $3500 for my cooling system not including fans. My choice wasn't the best I think.

Well there's good and bad news. Bad news is, I'm going on a holiday to Europe in September/October so that means this is going on the back burner and will hardly be touched until I get back.

Good news is I picked up a brand new tr6060 box with internal oil pump!

Last night I ordered all my cooling system from BMW too. I believe my bank account/house deposit no longer exists after the past week.

It's not often I get excited about seeing things get made. However today a friend called and said my crank case breathers were made and to pick them up after work. The right is the factory one. Has a 1 way valve and a rubber line fitting. I was very skeptical about running rubber, I hate it. The one of the left is 1/2 the finished product. Need to order 4 -6/8(sort that out later) fittings and get some type of breather tank made.

Also the bell housing is starting to come together. Taking our time to make sure it will be right. Next thing will be a clutch from NPC.

Any reason you went with genuine BMW over some high performance race radiator and cooling system?

Because I still needed a bunch of little hoses as well, my engine didn't have that stuff. Also a pwr was going to happen but for $2200 I couldn't see the value compared to the factory one to atleast get the car running. I will have a better fan set up with only a P/S cooler in front with enough ducting to help air flow. If it doesn't work, back to the drawing board.

Thought about just using the auto tranny cooling part of the radiator for the power steer and then you don't need an extra cooler.

The smg doesn't have a cooling part on the radiator so it seems. I did check it out and I could be wrong but I didn't see any provisions for it.

This thing is really on the back foot at the moment. I fly out to Europe in 4 weeks so I'm saving for that. Waiting for my bell housing to be finished and then the motor should be right to place in. Acquired a spare cross member to cut and modify. Also needing to purchase a rx7 fd3s steering rack to make the engine fit. Shouldn't be too hard.

Well things are still very slow. If you have followed from the first page there was my old e30. Long story short a good friend of mine purchased the rolling shell with everything needed to put the 1jz back in. So I've been building a motor and box for him whilst I'm waiting on my bell housing to be finished. I think I'm having more fun doing my first car again.

Had a few items turn up and did a little work on the car;
Cut my crossmember to make one to suit the new rack:

Made the factory cluster to take the motec dash:

So had a little drama with Japan autos. The rack was meant to have a knuckle on it. It didn't arrive with one. called them up and sent it out the next morning, its due here tomorrow. Absolute pleasure to deal with!
Rack turned up:

Bell housing came back fully welded. A good friend did it where he works. Couldn't be happier:

Now the best part, a good mate Andy(ducks_nuts, I think) cnc'ed this up at work for me. By far the best money spend on the entire car. It will make under the bonnet and semi resembles the F1 engine in 98/99. Couldn't be happier, hit him up if you need anything done! Cheap and amazing quality!

It's hard to say. Certainly want to have it done by June 15th next year(birthday) but if its longer because quality then I'm happy. If its laziness ill be super pissed.
