323i No Fuel at the Rail- Help Please

Hello, my name is cody i'm new here.
I have a 323i and i will not start i'm not getting any fuel to the rail the crazy thing is the fuel pump is coming on and doing it's thing 4 or 5 sec but i still am not getting any pressure at the rail i didn't get a pressure tester but i pushed the valve core in on the rail and nothing. what could be the problem? what is in between the rail and the pump that would stop the fuel. i changes the fuel filter, and i did put it on in the correct direction, and i changed the Fuel Pressure Regulator. PLEASE HELP. car has been down for a month.

You should read the 2nd link below in my signature.

My guess is you have about 1/4 tank of fuel in the car?? If so, you may need to add a few more gallons to the tank.

Read the 4th link below to find out how to access the Hidden OBC Menu and display both sides of the fuel tank on the dash. The passenger side should always have more fuel than the drivers side below about 1/2 of a tank displayed on the dash.

Another problem is sometimes folks connect the fuel filter wrong, on some years this is possible, and you can block fuel flow to the engine.

Thank you for the info jfoj i am going to go over it now. i do have a 1/4 tank of gas. when i replaced the fuel filter it did have a direction arrow on the filter and i did point it to the motor. and i have sprayed starter fluid in and it will start up and run until it burns away. so if i put some gas in it mite start up? cuz it has no pressure at the rail what so ever not even a psssss when i push the valve core in.

If it starts when you add fuel, keep an eye on both tank levels using the Hidden OBC Menu.

If the drivers side starts to have more fuel then the passenger, you will need a new fuel pump. Not an uncommon problem.
