On the weekend of July 27th, I will be doing a couple rather large jobs for the first time - CCV, OFHG, VANOS piston seals and VCG. I have all the tools, skill and patience to do these jobs on my own but it would be great if I had a 2nd set of hands to help. Anyone want to help? I'll pay in food and beer! PM me if interested.

whoa, whoa,WHOA, I missed the part about the beer

Seriously, let me know if you can't find anyone closer. I might be able to make the trip over. I've done each of those jobs you mentioned to mine already. You don't have a scanner by chance do you?

Hmm can the Peak tool read the DSC/ABS system? I got the dreaded three lights on the dash and don't want to start replacing random speed sensors

Sunday should work, Saturdays are usaully better. Let me know what weekend you want to do it. I don't usually plan that far ahead anyway so I should be in the clear. Shoot me a PM and I can get the directions from you.

I drive an hour to work everyday so an hour and ten minutes isn't a big deal to help a fellow fanatic out.

Doing VCG and VANOS seals this Sunday afternoon. I feel I could do this myself without help, but if anyone wants to swing by feel free.

Weekend for CCV and OFHG is TBD. Will post back when I know. I definitely want help for this job.

You using the beisan system seals? Assuming you already have the vanos gasket and bonjo bolt washers?

I could do the VCG job with my eyes closed at this point Iíve done it so many times. Be careful with the Victor Reinz gaskets, they tend to leak. Mine did only 3 months after I installed it.

The vanos job is pretty straight forward but time consuming. It took me about 6 hours to complete but I took my time with the job. Could probably knock it out in 2 hours.

What time are you looking to start the job? I could help if you plan on starting late morning early afternoon. Let me know.

Yes, I have the Beisan seal kit plus the following new Genuine BMW parts:

1 valve cover gasket
1 VANOS gasket
15 valve cover bolt rubber grommets
2 banjo bolt washers
2 VANOS left-hand threaded torx bolts
1 oil filler cap w/new seal
1 oil filler cap gasket

I have also heard plenty of bad things about the Victor Reinz gaskets. Planning to start around 1pm.

No problem. This would be a good opportunity to practice before you do them on your car. Feel free to join.

Thanks Hector45 for your help this weekend! Job went very smoothly. Will be posting pics in the General forum soon.

Anyone want to come out this weekend to help with CCV? Beer and lunch for anyone willing to lend a hand.

No problem man, I'd help you this weekend, but I'll be trying to build a kegerator out of a chest freezer, wish me luck

There are alot of plugs you will be disconnecting for that job, might want to consider painters tape to mark them so you dont forget one!
Also some assembly lube will help you with that hose you have to turn 90 degrees under the intake to connect it. Good luck
