My Ride: Is in a salvage yard
I met everybody at Dale City rest stop (even got some go pro vid, although not very good, of the cop telling us all to move lol). Around Baltimore I had 2 cylinders misfiring and the service engine light popped on so I lost everybody but still made it. YAN-3, it was awesome to see your car in person, very nice my friend....VERY nice.

2) If you're going to make a lane change because the car in front of you, not part of the caravan, is going too slow, open it up for the rest of the group. Make your lane change and then slow down and leave a gap for the people behind you to merge over, too. Otherwise only 2-4 cars may make it over and the others will be slowed down and then the caravan is split.
3) The caravan kept getting elongated after the first two stops which is why we had about 6-7 cars get split off (See number 2). I was following the car in front of me who was following a car in front of them and they cut 4 lanes of traffic to take a, what ended up being wrong, exit.
4) For the toll section, just pull off to the side with Emergency Lights until everyone is through.
Radios work very well with caravans. Leader gets one, and the guy/gal dedicated to the back gets one at minimum.
I was part of a San Diego caravan in 2011 which was pretty cool and the radios worked well. Everyone stayed together, but Cali has been festing for over a decade, so they know the deal. They actually get a police escort about the last few miles.
We will definitely get there.
As far as the racing...it happens. Cars not part of the caravan will entice, it's up to you to decide if you want the challenge. Be weary of whats going on and all should be well, its all part of the experience. A quick run and get back in line that should be enough.

There are also haters who intentionally try to break up the caravan (some truckers).
It will get better the more it goes down, just prepare ourselves as best as possible, and it will go down.
I will say I had a Passport 8500 X50, and only got two hits. One was WAY late.
Cops don't really look for speeders off top with a caravan, they look for tint, missing front tags, lights, etc..., but that's if they prepare themselves by knowing when it goes down. I doubt they knew about this one. In Cali, it's the same time every year, so there are traps.

If you stick together and duck behind another car, your chances of being spotted are less likely, and if you blatantly flyby, expect a citation, and again radio communication from those who pick up radar waves hundreds of feet out can give a nice alert to those towards the back.
Overall it was nice.

This is all I got man. You're the first one here, sounds good.
There's another one of you, but you were too far back and caught in traffic.

ah damn, went by so quick... lol, thanks tho man...
hey you held up that 18 wheeler like a boss, i was so nervous... i dont fvk with truckers man, some of em are crazy, my best friend is one. lol.
Yeah, radios wouldve been legit... maybe next time.

i didnt mind the run up, i think to do a legit organized convoy on 95 without police escort is just not gonna happen, too many d1ckheads that as you say, will wanna jump in and break it up for whatever reason, or hold us up... ive done this a few times by motorcycle, some people just dont like being passed by large groups of loud awesome fast machines, i dunno what it is. And unless we are escorted thru traffic without hinderance, people will always break out and do their thing... i personally dont like not being able to see infront of the vehicle infront of me, and when i cant i either pass or fall back, when i fall back, some asshole jumps in front... so eventually i have to go around them, and so on and so on... i had a great time. The drive up was almost as good as the show itself.

Ha there's a bounty for that black Z4.

Looking like a hefty reward if he's found.
I think he was taking still shots while we were rolling.

Yeah he caught up to me and I sat behind him and next to him for a good 10 miles and he was taking constant pictures. I have never gotten rolling pictures before and really want to see them. I would honestly pay!

The A-driver of the white E46 M3 plates "WRG-Fitted" also got some rolling shots I'd like to see. The owner of the M3 is from Chesapeake, I forgot both his and the a-drivers name.

This black guy in the black Z4M coupe.
Someone find him.
Trust me he spent a lot of time outside that window with that camera!

At that particular shot I was way up front as the lead car. That VW eventually made it up and took off. Man, that thing sounded sweet.
I'm a VW guy too so yea it hit me.
