Re: Local on the shelf ammo...is it there where U live?

Hoffmans in CT had pallets of ammo over the weekend. Full shelves of American Eagle 223 @ $9.99, 7.62x51, two pallets of blazer 9mm at 350 rounds for 99 $ and shelves of HP pistol ammo. Its like nothing ever happened. Gunbot prices have come down a lot also. I'm glad I diddnt panic buy.

My Walmarts (Texas- and two within the same driving distance) gets two shipments a week. They go on the shelves in the AM and are gone within 2 hours. They usually get all the common bullets but recently have only received the more expensive brands/bullets - federal .45 home defense, .223 vmax, .308 Winchester bear rounds, etc.

That being said.. I just got back from a gun show that were charging the same or double for reloads. I'll take what I can.

Re: Local on the shelf ammo...is it there where U live?

We're starting to see fuller shelves again here in cincinnati. Walmart is still hit or miss but the local dicks, bass pro and the local gun shops are pretty much back to normal. Good to see the rapelist ads coming down in price too.

Our local Bi-mart had an almost fully stocked ammo case for the first time since Newtown this weekend. Including bricks of .22LR, about 5 different kinds of 45, .38 special and .357. Lots of different hunting ammo. They had a one-brick per person limit on the .22LR. My real litmus test for when the ammo shortage is over is when they stock shelves full of .22 out in the aisles. I'm guessing it will be 3 months till we see that again.

9mm FMJ is $21 per 50
9mm JHP is $29 per 50

.223 bagged in lots of 100 rounds is $75 (they're splitting up the 420round ammo cans they get into bagged ammo)

It's the only way they've been able to keep ammo on the shelf. I did buy some of the 9mm FMJ the other day (I didn't want to burn my JHP) - they gave it to me for $20/tax at "good guy" prices.

That's my local gun shop. Walmart, Gander Mountain, Cabelas - none of these have jack shit on the shelf unless it's shotshell or .17hmr.
