new travel lens

Hey Guys,

i'll visit mexico, cuba an d jamaica in september/october and i don't know which lens to buy.

i recently sold my 50mm f/1.4 and will also sell the 24-105mm f/4 because f/4 is too much in low light conditions with my 5Dc because of its bad iso-habits and i barely use the 50.

since i don't have the $$$ for a red ring i thought about the tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 or the sigma 35mm f/1.4.

i don't like the focusing speed of the tamron on my 5D and zoom ring is annoying. but i do nt have any experience with the 35mm from sigma.

on one hand the sigma will force me to think about composition and stuff on the other hand the tammi is more versatile (also weights ~150g more) but the image quality on the 35mm is a blast

I'll aso carry a gopro 3 for underwater and video. the 5D is for landscape, city and people.

what are your thoughts, guys?

Buy the Sigma 35, and get the USB dock with it, so you can fine-tune the AF if you need to.

I like a 35mm as a walk around lens, it allows for pleasant landscapes and people shots. The 35/1.4 is an incredible lens but not everyone can justify the price while the 35/2 lacks sharpness. I would shop the different photo forums for a used 1.4.

blub...wasn't happy with my 5D plus the 24-105 and/or sigma 35mm because of the fact that the combinations are just way to heavy. so i sold the 24-105mm + the 5D and got me...

a Fuji X100S

Ah ok, I didn't get into the hobby until a few years ago, have never seen the 5Dc in a store or on Canon's site.
