Found some perfect LED's for the interior!

Found some perfect Amber LEDS that match the stock hue. Installed some in the 530's door pockets, planning to tackle the e46 next..

It took a long time to find the perfect match. I sourced them from a friend of mine in Sweden. He got them from a source in Germany. I had to buy 1000pcs so I have plenty for those who are interested.

I mounted them in this bezel

As far as wiring/ soldering, this is how you hook the LED's up:

For power, I tapped off the grey/red wire off the door switches. I assume that the wire color will likely be the same in all cars. I also tapped off my center console door lock switch for footwell lighting. The wire color is the same to any light in the interior that glows amber, grey/red. I followed this DIY, my posts are on page 2

If you want them, I have them in sets of 4 here:

It can be mounted in the bezel two ways. One makes the LED head protude slightly as pictured above, and if you install it from behind the bezel and silicone it in, it's more stealth.

You can also sand them down to diffuse it even further.

It's a 5mm LED

5/16" mounting hole, the bezel is 9/64" high. Can be mounted in plastic/metal up to 7/32" thick

I also used these LED's in my courtesy lights. Popped out a festoon bulb and made a small bread board with 12 LED's without bezels. I was also thinking of putting these in the map lights

That's a pretty good idea. I hate digging in those pockets on the dark.

I agree! It's soft lighting, not too bright, it's really spot on.

I look forward to the drives at night, seem to look for a reason to take a ride after dusk.

I also put a few under the dash to illuminate the foot-well areas.

What value is the resistor needed? Do you supply them with the LED's?

Yes, I supply the LED's with resistors and bezels at stated in the listing.

You could use as many as you'd like. I used two per side. Any switch that glow amber already is a source for power.

You can tap off any of the window switches by the shifter which is what I did for my footwells. Most likely the LED wire for your car is grey/black for +12V. Brown wire is ground.

If you can't figure out where to tap off, I am 5 miles from you.....
