I can infer that because my speedometer goes up to 200MPH, therefore my car goes 200MPH. What makes a bimmer a bimmer, the badge of course.

No.

How is it that people don't know about the E46 compact?! It was not sold in the US so I can give people a break there but still. The compacts were made during the e46 and e36 generations. They came in different engine denominations and ended in ti(Touring International). For example, 318ti. If it were a diesel, it would be something like 320td. It had a design much different than the rest of the e46's as far as the exterior but the interior you would all recognize. In Europe, it was replaced with the 1 Series 3 and 5 door hatchbacks.

Special edition M5. Pretty rare. Don't see what the big deal is.

guys let me tell you all my buddy once worked at hte import dock where bmws are inported adn they would always put badges on at the dock not at the plant in germany thats how you kno it's a real M5 but i think on this on ethey must have mistaken it for a real m5 that and the lack of dual exhaust and put the badges in the wrong place and swapped the tails to a honda accord y, i dont kno??. clearly also its not an m5 bc you can't order them in that color etc etc. there is probably a M5 with accord badges rolling around lol sucker. anwyay thats how the badges work and this one time another buddy of mine ordered a custom M5 with no badges so who knows? u never kno

but to my point my buddy just got hired at the honda dlr because he is very good at putting on M logos and theyre customers buy a lot of them but not at nissan dlr bc those are GTR not M3 logos completely different story. so the car OP posted is prolly his handywork lol
