Need help finding a good shop

I live in the Quad Cities, bout 2 1/2 hours west of Chicago. I have no problem driving as far as Chicago to find a good shop. Looking for a place that does mods and experienced with bmw's. I'm wanting to put 410 gears in my M3 sometime and don't want to tackle it on my own. I've heard good things from VS Motorsports but are they even open anymore. I haven't found a local shop I trust. Found a shop that said they handled BMW in my region as an alternative to the dealer and I kid you not they didn't understand what an inspection was on my m3! It counts down on the dash! Anyway, any suggestions or your experiences with shops would help. Thanks
