Maxed today at 240 on bench. "Maybe" a little help at the very top. Spotter said he didn't help me. I thought he may have a little. Tried at 245 and couldn't get it.

Getting to the 245 went as follows, maybe I should change up my prerequisites before a max try...?

135x10
155x10
175x10
205x3 (could get more but decided on three reps to keep my pump up and fatigue down)
225x3 (same as above)
230x1 ("maxing")
235x1 ("maxing")
240x1 ("maxing")
245x0 haha

Thoughts? Ha

You did way too many reps before your max efforts
You want a good warm up but not waste your strength
Probably could have hit 245 if you did about half of what you did prior to your attempt

Another good chest day. Seems like I always jump onto e46 after chest days (probably because I do chest on morning work out days)

Up to doing 225x5x3 now. Definitely still enjoying the chest killing days. Hoping to get a new max after one more week of the pyramid workout I posted in the post a work out thread. This time I'll go for much fewer reps into the maxes.

Awesome work man. Except next time skip over that 230x1 and 240x1 as they are now wasting energy unless you do them for reps as the purpose of the lift. (Non maxing day)

fuuuuuuuuuck so hungry!! I haven't eaten since 10pm last night! Fasting until my doctors appointment at 2pm. Getting blood work done. Going to find out what my T levels are. Also going to get tested for Celiac disease. Can't wait to stuff my face after the tests and then get my ass into the gym for chest day!

Looks like Ill be taking some time off from the gym...

tweaked the fck out of my back yesterday. Of course! It was on the last set of the last exercise of the day! Fcking barbell shrugs. I'm really not sure how it happened. Hurts like hell though. Hurts during any type of twist. It's a single spot pain. Slightly below my right shoulder blade. About an inch from my spine... Hopefully within a week or so it will be gone. I will probably get a massage this week to try to work it out too.

Instead of making a thread, I'll post my question here in hopes for a few responses...


So I assume anyone that's looked at a few of my posts may know I attempt to eat non stop. My schedule is horrible meaning eating on a set schedule is very difficult. So over the passed say 4 months my wife has been a tremendous help in preparing meals the day before with me for me to take to work. Well she is 7 months pregnant with twins and that's no longer an option. I'm currently averaging 6-7 meals a day plus at least 1 high calorie whey protein shake.

Although I'm sure many may refute, I have been attempting to follow the Hercules diet posted a while. We literally cook chicken, fish and steak every day for the passed few months. Although its been delicious, I can't keep up with it on my own. So, I question a "simpler" method for work.

I go to work (leave home) at 3 am (arrive at 4am). I leave work at 1pm (if I'm lucky). Arrive at the gym by 2-215.

After the gym I have no problem making good food.

For work I'm considering the following:

It's probably ok but can't you just make a ton of food for the week one night or a few times a week at least?

Yeah my shakes consist of 4 scoops xxx mass. And 16oz of whole milk and two scoops PB. Should be about 1200-1300 calories.

So I've become extremely understanding to the fact that I am not anywhere near capable of doing that full kettleball swing work out... however with that said my goal is to get to be able to do it..

Today: (my true day one to progress as yesterday was a teaser of what's to come)

29 minutes 37 seconds. Lets call it 30 minutes to complete.

Dumbbell weight used was 20lbs. Squat weight today was 135lbs. After each squat I took a 30 second rest before starting the next swing.

10 swings
1 squat
15 swings
2 squats
25 swings
3 squats
50 swings

3 minute rest

10 swings
1 squat
15 swings
2 squats
25 swings
3 squats
40 swings...15 seconds....10 swings

3 minute rest

10 swings
1 squat
15 swings
2 squats
25 swings
3 squats
25 swings...30 seconds...25 swings


I only timed some of my rest times..I definitely had a couple stops in there where I needed a rest...grabbed water, quick stretch, etc. Hopefully I can continue to get faster and add in the two extra sets this work out calls for.

Not terrible? I'm not sure. I'm glad I have a baseline to compare. I can now have some goals to strive towards in the coming weeks. I'll stick with the 20lbs for swings for the duration until, hopefully, I can get the full 5 sets in without collapsing to the floor.
