The fa5 civic comes with the k20 stock, and as far as trowing in a 10 cylinder motor in the m3, go ahead, but there's races on YouTube demonstrating how a boosted k20 beats even that. Mostly has to do with the weight of the civic. Look it up, it's been matched before.

Don't we all buy nutrition for our cars? Groceries like antifreeze, oil, washer fluid.....

Here is video of my S2k @ Pocono nascar triangle. at 4:20 mark my buddy steve enters screen with $250k turner motorsports e92. It takes him a few laps to pull on my S2k which was at 8000-9000 RPM for 12 minutes straight. The F20C is a great motor. but you can make more power with k20's. I love Honda's.

They're good engines but sound awful

Cause apparently the M3 is cheap enough now that it has attracted a lot of former Honda owners that are butt hurt when it is pointed out why they ditched their FWD econoboxes for the ultimate driving machine.

That should be enough to keep this thread going another day.

Just because other companies have also made great engines doesn't lessen anything about the s54. Honda is known for making great motors. This isn't anything new....they've been doing it for decades.

I judge the car for what it is, stock! Yea you can get a civic or any other car and engine swap it, throw turbos in it and make it go really fast. Dont compare a M3 to a civic. If you do compare those two care compare it Stock in the conditon it comes out of the dealership.

I thought the m3 was fast but wait until you ride my bicycle. I have two rockets attached to my Pegs and i get 0-60 in 1.5 seconds.

Here is my comparison for you guys..

I started off with the e46 325i 2003 which i felt oh nice i have a bimmer luxury stuff. I wanted something i was able to track, reliability and cheap.

I purchased a 2010 Civic SI 4dr. This car is such a fun car to play with. It came stock with K20 and limited slip diff...I had basic bolts such as flash pro, catless header, full catback, intake, coilover, Brembo DC5R bbk, and so on. This net me at 200hp at the wheels. I had so much fun keeping up with M3's and all sorts on the track as the car was soi lightweight and fun to drive. One thing that bothered me was the lack of torque.

This is when I received a offer that someone wanted to take over my Civic. I sold the civic now, I have my e46 m3. As for someone that has and still are in both scenes, I can tell you that thes two cars are on its own league. The reason I went with the e46 m3 was due to my line of work, I could not afford to show up at a clients office driving a fully modded civic. I needed something more luxurious.

As for drive and feel, definitely civic was so much better at cornering due to light weight etc, but straight line power, the torque and hp of the m3 made me realize how slow my Civic was. On the highway i can be doing 180KM/h and not feel a thing, while in my civic i would be scared shitless because you feel that you are going alot faster.

It really depends what you are looking for in a car, all in all.. I would definitely buy a another civic when the opportunity arises. m3 daily, Civic track car/winter beater would me my ultimate goal. Best of both worlds.
