Low rumbling when turning at low speed and applying gas pedal

I drive an '01 330xi and recently I have noticed a disconcerting low rumbling when turning at low speeds and applying the gas pedal. Info which might be relevant: My ATF fluid has a tendency to slowly leak so I have had to keep an eye on my ATF levels lest my car develop a constant high pitched wine when driving at low speeds, my oil level is at the max line on the dipstick, and I recently received a P0444 error-however this went away aftet tightening my gas cap and I haven't seen an SES light since.

Any info on what might be causing this rumbling and how to fix it.
