yes there's a difference. looks totally different. if you want to know what fits and what doesn't, then coupe and sedan are not interchangeable at all. facelift fits on prefacelift (not perfect fitment), but not the other way around.

So only a pre facelift coupe hood will work on a pre facelift coupe?

I've seen someone fit a facelift hood on a pre-facelift coupe. It didn't line up quite right with the headlights, but it wasn't exactly awful either.

Point is, if you wanted a facelift, you should've gotten a facelift.

OP according to what they have said. You can put a facelift hood onto a pre-facelift as long as you use a coupe hood if you have a coupe, or a sedan hood if you have a sedan.

I have no knowledge about this but according to them, you cannot put a pre-facelift hood onto a facelift car. I don't see why not though. Maybe someone will chime in.

And you definitely cannot put a coupe hood onto a sedan, or a sedan hood onto a coupe. Without modification i'm guessing haha.

What are you looking to do?

it's because of the headlight design on the facelifts. it makes the hood extend out more. that's why when you put a facelift hood on a prefacelift, you have that gap between the headlights.

BUMP

For coupe pics. Need a new hood and want to go facelift, mine is rotted pretty bad. I prefer the facelift kidneys but think the facelift lights are hideous.

The gap b/w the headlights and hood will look worse. Get a regular hood.

You cannot do enough modification to put a coupe hood on a sedan, or vice versa. The length of the hood (windshield to headlamps) is completely different.

Facelift and prefacelift hoods are interchangeable for the most part. With some adjusting and alignment you can get a good fitment. What's not interchangeable is coupe to sedan, one is about two inches longer and they simply wont fit well.

OK, Mike@Modbargains updated his photoshoot thread with his facelift hood on a pre-facelift. It's also confirmed. Facelift hood is definitely the way to go.

I think the links are dead on the pics from 2007 due to a server change. Here are the pics (I think they are the right ones):

Cool car!
Is it just the pics, or is the hood riding a little higher than the fenders where they meet?
