Overall goal is strength, but I'm not exactly the biggest guy so size is definitely a priority.

As I have ended a prolonged cut recently (my last pic), ill be waiting until I've had at least 8 weeks of proper training & nutrition, then ill post another one to see if there is any difference. For now I'm focusing on numbers

I'm of the belief IF is more a lifestyle choice than "better than this meal frequency method" etc. they all work in their own way

I had playoff hockey last night, and will continue to have it every night this week and likely on weekend as well. Working out will have to take a backseat until my teams win it all (hopefully) or we get eliminated.

Over the past two weeks I've been playing hockey non stop. Since last Monday I've had one or sometimes two games every night except sat/sun. One team is knocked out finally, and I've moved all my stuff out of my exes and I's place as of yesterday... Haven't been cooking at all since it was all in boxes.

After this weekend looking forward to getting back into the gym and cooking again!

just broke up with my gf too man. Sh1tty feeling. We didn't live together and were only together 8 months. I can imagine how this is putting a damper on the training.

Damn sorry to hear man. I'm actually treating this like a blessing, I took a job offer in downtown calgary which is 2.5 hours away from my current city and is an amazing opportunity, I could have never done it if I wasn't single.

She moved here from a small town for me so all her friends are my friends, so there's the added benefit of not having to spend every minute of my relaxing time with her lol.

good man. Everything will work out. We were on and off and to be honest it was pretty exhausting. The uncertainty of everything was wearing me out.

so the month of august was pretty much a writeoff... I'm STILL playing hockey (we are in finals) and tomorrow could be last game or thursday at latest. That plus moving out of my ex's and I's place etc lead to not lots of home cooking. I still managed to eat somewhat decently, just couldn't have gotten calories / protein for weightlifting in.

After the long weekend I am flying to Austin, TX for a week but with the end of hockey, it is time to continue. I weigh around 168-169 and my weight seems to have settled here which is nice. Since I am moving to Calgary, I won't be playing hockey this winter... which means 4 days a week for the gym.

I plan to do this for at least 6 months, tweaking as necessary.

Lower Power

Squat - 5/6/7/8
Deadlift - 3/4
Leg Press - 10/8/6
Calf Raises - 3 x 21 (switching feet every 7 reps)

Upper Power

Bench Press - 3/4/5
Incline DB - 3 x 6-8
Overhead Press - 5/6/7
Bent Over Row - 3/4/5
Wide Grip Pullups - 3 x Max

Lower Hypertrophy

Front Squats - 8/10/11/12
RDL's - 3 x 10-12
Leg Extensions - 3 x 10-15
Calf Raises - 3 x 21 (switching feet every 7 reps)

Upper Hypertrophy

Incline Barbell Bench - 8/10/11/12
DB Flies - 4 x 10-12
Pullups - 4 x Max
T-Bar Rows - 4 x 8-12
DB Reverse Flies - 2 x 10-12
Tricep Extension - 1 x 10
Bicep Curl - 1 x 10

Hoping there hasn't been any significant strength loss over past ~3 weeks

Believe me, I've missed posting on here as well as working out... I've realized the very positive effect both the gym and cooking have on my stress levels, which are presently way too high. Everyday I feel like I achieved something after gym and been missing that component for too long.

I've got to get back at it and catchup to you! Plus im excited to be able to dedicated two workouts a week to higher rep schemes, I think it will really help my strength levels.

How's the personal training coming along? I haven't even had much time to read anything let alone post

It's going well. Just a few people coming so far. hoping everything flows when i'm certified and the company is set up. I don't want to saturate myself with too many "free" people just yet because then no one will want to pay lol.

First time back in the gym in 5 weeks. It was rough, I did my "Upper Hypertrophy" workout for the first time so I didn't have anything to benchmark against, but I definitely felt weak / tired, could be from working so much as well.

I actually lost a little bit of weight in the 5 weeks, I'm at 167 lbs. I don't think it was all muscle, I ate pretty well despite constant travel and 60 hour work weeks / moving places.

Tried to take a pic today but phone died, I want to use it as my "starter pic" for this year. Will tomorrow.

Workout reps were a bit messy since I was using trial & error for weights to start with.

Upper Hypertrophy

Incline Bench (Supposed to be 8/10/11/12 reducing weight each time)
135 x 5
95 x 10
95 x 8
85 x 9

Dumbbell Flies (Supposed to be 4x10-12)
35's x 8
27.5's x 12
27.5's x 12
Forgot last set

Pullups (Go until form is very degraded)
8
5
3

T-Bar Row (Supposed to be 4x10-12... I could tell I was weak from these, usually do 160x8)
135x8
115x10
115x7
100x8

Reverse Flies (2x10-12)
17.5'sx12
17.5'sx12

Barbell Curls (1x10)
70x9

Triceps Extension (1x10)
65 x 5

Just gave me motivation to get back into it, I'm traveling again all next week (need to put together a hotel room workout) and then moving down to Calgary at the end of the month, but once I'm settled I want to really get to work. Frustrating when life gets in the way but it happens

Forgot to take a pic again, damn't... friday it is. I've definitely lost some a slight bit of fat since july.

I had some benchmarks today, and while I felt "out of shape" I definitely was at par with my last workout, which was great news.

Lower Hypertrophy

Back Squats (8/10/11/12, lowering by 10% each set)
205 x 7 (bad last rep and didn't push)
185 x 10
165 x 11
145 x 12

Romanian Deadlift (3x10)
155x10x3

Leg Extension (3x12-15)
110 x 15
115 x 15
115 x 15

Sitting Calf Raises

I didn't do these because I have a date on friday, and it has been 5 weeks since I trained calves and I didn't want to go on a date walking like I just got fked in the ass all night prior.

Oh and for anyone who lives in austin / been to Austin Tx... 6th street is gods gift to earth. Unreal

Are you trying to take pic right after a workout to get a pump going for the pic?

no all my historical pics are before I workout, my first one ever I took in the same gym bathroom so I've kept them consistent for over a year now.

I'd much rather take pics in my own bathroom than a public bathroom for half naked pics

So I had a place, gave up my nhl season seats, told everyone I was moving, etc etc and four days before I'm supposed to move my company announces half of it is splitting of into its own IPO and my calgary office is going one way while my job is going the other (Edmonton). So after all that I'm not moving anywhere. Pretty devastated but that's life.

Been getting back into working out, I don't think I'll post up logs but I'm doing my lower/upper hypertrophy and power splits. Gone twice this week.

My mobility is getting slightly better, my squatting is very low... I'll try and get a video. I was at 205x8 but considering how deep I was getting I'm proud of that.

My goal is to be able to lift "heavy" weight for reps, and this is where my hypertrophy splits will come in handy I believe. I think it will add some actual muscle mass to my frame.

Playing for two hockey teams this winter as well, but I'll do upper lifts on game days. I want to get bigger.
