$50 if you can reset my airbag light QLD - Wellington Point - Australia

I have the airbag light on the dash of my 2003 BMW e46 320i and need it reset so I can get an inspection done.

I have ordered the airbag reset tool on ebay but will take 2 weeks.

If you can reset it I will give you $50.

My car only had the internal OBD2 port.

I am in Wellington Point QLD, near Capalaba/Cleveland. Unfortunately Icannot drive the car to you as it is not registered yet.

Thanks

David - 0433 468 803

Do you know what has caused the light and has the problem been fixed?

I can help reset the light but if the failure is still present the light will just come straight back on.

The door airbag was removed without disconecting the battery.

I am 90% sure there is no other problem, so resetting the light should solve it.

But I know there is a chance that it may not.

Ahh yup. No worries.

I'm happy to help out but it's a 35 minute drive for me. If there's nobody closer that can help I can probably come do it tonight for you.

Get yourself PA soft1.4 for less than $50 and reset it. You got the tool afterward.

I have carsoft 6.5 but it is not recognizing the airbag module. I have also ordered a reset tool on ebay but wont get to me for over a week, I need to reset it asap so I can get the inspection done to register it.

Thanks.

Update:
I finally got carsoft to work by modifying the obd2 plug, now I can read many more modules and the airbag module.

Still can't clear it as it is showing the following error:

01 Driver Airbag
Airbag Control Unit (Before mod. 2000 and All E36)

Mine is a 2003 E46 so Im guessing it is the Driver Airbag.

Does this mean it is the driver door airbag or the steering wheel airbag?

and any suggestions on how to fix.

Thanks

That code seems very generic. Try installing and using INPA. It should give you a more detailed error and specify which airbag.

Thanks DeclanM3,

I have downloaded BMW dis and INPA but not installed yet.

Will this work with the Carsoft cable and module without too much stuffing around, I have ordered the correct usb cable for BMW dis from Ebay but will take at least a week to arrive, I am very impatient.

Cheers,

DAve.

NFI sorry, I went through about 3 cables and 5 clean installs before I could get it to work. Ended up getting a proper cable (probably paying too much money for it but knowing it would work) and getting a friend to give me a copy of a VM that already had it all set up with drivers for said cable.

Might just wait for the cable to arrive then.

Ended up getting the airbag light off, turns out is was the wiring in the steering wheel, the plug in the back of the airbag was a bit corroded.

I cleaned the contacts and reset the light with carsoft and now no light.

VERY stoked.

Car is still running rough so looking forward to the new diag software.

Thanks for all your help.
