Pikes Peak Question

In May 2014, after finals i'm driving from Duluth, MN to C.O.S to visit some friends and drive up to Pikes Peak.

My question is, what is the police situation normally along the Pikes Peak Toll Road?

I ask, cause i want to know if i'll be able to push it or not

Pikes Peak Question

The roads are amazing but unless you are a trained rally driver I wouldn't recommend to push it in the pikes peak road. A simple mistake can be costly on those roads. I would worry less about the police on those roads but for your own safety be very careful.
Granted that our cars handle good but are not prepped that good.

Pikes Peak is on my bucket list. So if i can carry a bit of speed into a corner i'll be happy.

What's the weather like for Pikes Peak and the Denver/COS area in late May?

Pikes Peak Question

In may the weather is generally pretty good. But you never know in Colorado, it might snow in mid june too. At the summit it's pretty cold even in mid summer. I would still say taking corners at speed is a bad idea on those roads because most of the roads there do not have guard rails, so if you overshoot a corner and go off the road you will roll down the mountain. Anyway The best time is September, when you drive through looking at the fall colors.

Well of you are planning a trip to Colorado and plan to drive the mountains, check the road to aspen via independent pass(most beautiful drive ever, and i have driven in many countries) and also the road to mt Evans.
