I'm giddy with excitement - fund a full set of TM RBZ irons, driver, 3W, and bag for an INSANE price. Hoping the seller still has them available and I can pick them up soon.

Edit: Gone....$200 was a ridiculous price

going to test out a BRZ stage2 and a Ping G20 at lunch today... after reading up on it, I am going to shy away from the Superfast, maybe even go with last years version of the RBZ.... R11 is just too much for me, I don't want a club to fix my swing, I want to be able to fix my swing. local golf pro mentioned the G20 as a good fit for a slicer... so I am going to go whack a few at lunch.

played 9 last night at a par 3 course few minutes out of town, besides the first hole (first holes are killing me this year) I played +2 on remainder holes.

but no one should shoot a triple on a par 3 first hole hahahah. fuuuu.

So I tested a TaylorMade RBZ stage2, Ping G25 and a Cobra Amp Cell Offset..

Couldn't hit the TM at all, sliced everything worse then my current set up, also didn't like the feel of it - in my mind before testing all these clubs, this was the one I was going to get. big upset.

Ping G25 is a beautiful club, and the weight of it was awesome, swung nice, felt great, but I was all over the board with this one, when you got it right you got it right though.

and the Cobra... at the time didn't even know why the guy handed me this one, had no interest in trying it out.... and, well... never missed a shot, everything down the center, even paying a slight draw wtf... where did this club come from. felt nice, good weight, kinda like the tacky graphics... it was the only not adjustable of the three I tested (which I have no problem with) I was shooting 10.5 degree Ping/TM and the Cobra was a 9.5.... driving range is only 250 yards long - trees beyond, last 100 yards go up a hill so I could not judge roll on any of them, but I was dropping everything in the trees yards behind the 250 marker.

all stiff shaft... Cobra was the Pro Tour Stiff Shaft.

look's like I need to read some more reviews.

The Ping was the most expensive of the three, cobra being the cheapest....

it was a well spent lunch hour I'd say.

I'm really fighting the urge to buy new irons. I've been playing my Callaways for 15-16 yrs, so I'm well overdue. Since I'm playing a lot, I could justify them getting used regularly....need to save some money though. Ebay is so full of deals on brand new sets that it is killing me

I will keep that in mind, thanks! I am planning to get either new or used, but fairly new condition, recent clubs. Considering how long I keep them, I figure I might as well get new or nearly new.

What do you guys think of this?
Taylormade Burner 2.0 irons. 5-PW for $160 (he came down a little).
I'd probably add a 4 iron from eBay, so figure $50 for that. The rest of my wedges are covered already.

Used sets are going for $200 (same 5-PW) to $250+ on 3balls.com. I think it is a fair deal, but not spectacular.

Ended up buying the Burner 2.0 irons. Looking at the 3 & 4 Burner 2.0 Superfast hybrids tonight. I'm on a roll.

Sign up for Golfsmith specials... they ALWAYS have great deals. I just caked up on some Nike stuff, dri-fit polos (current season) for 30, pants for 40, just a few weeks ago.

I'm also in the market for some new irons... not too sure what to go with, leaning towards Miz or Titleist... just got a 56 volkey... my first real wedge and it's incredible.

Hey man, I play Haines Pt all the time as well. We should link up and play a round some time.

On another note, who does everyone have in the AT&T National Tournament going on @ Congressional? My three picks are Jason Day, Scott Stallings, Ricky Fowler.

I went to it last year when Tiger won, it was a pretty cool experience if you've never seen pros up close.

Well done sir.

I've barely played this season, maybe only 3 rounds. Hoping to get a round in this weekend.

Looking for a new driver. It's been a long time since I've bought any clubs. What's popular?

I'm coming from an older Titleist so I don't like the idea of a 460cc club. It's just too big. It seems like 440cc is the only other option, which limits me. I also don't want to mess around with weights, but I do like the idea of adjustable loft and being able to open or close the face. I've been looking at the Cobra Amp Cell Pro and Callaway X Hot Pro. Thoughts?
