Thank You, the interior is flat out amazing, the pictures don't do it justice. I plan on cleaning (if it really needs any) & conditioning the leather this weekened.

The Caramel Nappa Leather interior came with black leather center consoles and regular dash/lower doorcards. Look it up.

It appears you have the normal extended leather interior where the upper dash and center console surround are leather.
The Complete leather interior has full door cards, lower dash, glovebox - all covered in leather.

All US interiors came with what was classified as extended leather. The difference being: sport interiors did not have leather upper dash whereas luxury interiors (yours) did.

I may be slightly incorrect, but I believe the above covers the US interiors.

Gold BBS LMs = game over.
Yeah it does appear to be normal leather, but the M3CR interior code appears to be "extended"? That's what comes up using the vin decoder. Either way I am still very happy with the way it looks. I used this site: http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html

Caramel extended Nappa Heritage leather M3CR DE91, DE92, DE93 10/1998 through 06/2003 (DE93 / USA: through 08/2000 only)
Caramel complete Nappa Heritage leather M1CR DE91, DE92, DE93 10/1998 through 06/2003

This vehicle is originally a Canadian car that was imported back in 2003 I believe. It still has the Canadian vehicle sticker under the hood. The seller included all the import documentation as well as the new cluster documentation that had to change the kph to mph

It's been raining all week, hopefully this weekend (Sunday) it clears. I still plan on going to C&C on Sunday to meet up with some fellow E39's.

Just a few photos from yesterday. See how the OG looks different in different lighting! Obviously it's thirsty....

I went nuts with my M5 when I bought it. Congrats, its a great car. Looks you got a really nice one. Are you going to facelift it? The CELIS tails and facelift headlights look so much better. I'd strongly suggest you stick with OEM only. I got lucky I didn't have to do all that because mine was an 02. A good friend of mine bought one and did the update, pretty straightforward. Get yourself some Leatherique goods and let it sit on the leather for a couple days, will really puff it back to life and remove all the accumulated garbage including unnecessary shine.

Actually the previous owner included some facelight headlights. I doubt they are OEM, but they are brand new in the box and haven't been installed yet.

I also have some Leatherique products waiting to be used.

Yeah, its a pretty big jump from 323 to an M5, haha

Where in VA are you?

-------------

Went to Cars & Coffee this morning, but I guess the mist/rain scared everyone away. Only a dozen cars showed up.

I'm in CCY how about you? is this C&C at Katie's coffee house? Is there an arlington C&C? I haven't been to one of those in a while, would definitely like to see the BEAST the next time you go to one.

Im in Arlington.

There are two C&C. One is really early Saturday morning (~7am); this original C&C at Katie's. The second on is at Starbucks in Fair Lakes (Exit 55 off I-66). This one is more laid back and doesn't start until around 8-830ish.

Nice. The S62 is too addictive.

BTW SHAMELESS PLUG. I still have my OEM M5 hood with welded OEM E46 M3 "power dome" hood bulge sitting in my garage. If you're interested let me know

Today was FINALLY a nice day outside. Quickly cleaned up the wheels a little, and took a few shots, didn't do a full wash because it's supposed to rain again this week. (look at post #22 and the difference in color). Had a nice size package come today as well. Going to stock up on this expensive stuff!

Now that I have some TWS in stock, I plan on doing an oil change this Saturday. I also have some routine filter replacements coming on Thursday. I took a look at the filters over the weekend, and they needed changing badly so had to shell out a couple more bucks . Cabin filters (x2), and intake filters (x2).

Cabin and Intake Filters came yesterday. Quickly changed out the filters before the rain came in today. So happy that it is super easy to work on E39s, just like E46s.

Some MANN filters

Little latch that clicks out/down

Filthy Cabin Filters

Rubber drain was completely blocked with dirt, debris, leaves, etc

Ahh fresh filter

Another pictures of the cabin filters. Yikes...Looks like these were never replaced

Onto the intake filters. Just as easy, just unclip (4) retaining clips

Old Intake filter vs. new filter

This filter was in the right intake box? Not even the right size....

Up next: Oil Change
