I haven't had time to work on it lately. I had a summer internship and 2 summer classes so I was extremely busy with all of that. I want to start working on my car soon. I'm in the process of finding a job now that I'm almost done with my internship, when I find a new Job I can start pouring $ into my car again.

Stay tuned

now that I got my RTA and everything for the rear basically completed (just need brake pads) I was able to put the center counsel back in. Here is a pic of my interior as it sits now.

 photo IMAG2312_zpsa1de6f96.jpg

I need to install my front seats and my trim but interior is almost complete. The only thing i need is the ash tray trim and the DSC buttons. Does anyone have the ashtray trim piece that goes here? I need the newer version with 1 big slot for the DSC, sport, heated seat buttons ext.

 photo IMAG2313_zpsfee243cf.jpg

Mine is the old one shown here with the old style cut outs.. one cut out for each button. Its for sale if anyone wants it shoot me a PM

I found a random 10 pin connector then Proceeded to rip apart my dash assuming I forgot to plug something in. Everything seemed to be plugged in and I still can't figure out what it's for.. Maybe per wire for something? Anyway I found this video talking about the same plug

Can someone please tell me what this 10 pin connector is for?

Just some small things like install the radiator ps. Lines ext. Also still looking for a dsc switch block with rear sunshade button. I noticed the rear joint on my driveshaft is not smooth. So I might need to buy another driveshaft..

my brakes should be finished up today (with the exception of fluid) waiting for the Usps to drop of my stoptech pads now. I replaced everything in my brake system, from the m3 mk60 ABS/DSC unit, brake pipes, stoptech lines, stoptech pads, M3 calipers and rotors.

I know everyone is wondering why I haven't finished this yet. The truth is I've been focusing on school (not working 40+hrs a week anymore) because this is my last year and classes are more difficult. And because I haven't been working as much I haven't had much extra $ to spend on my project. It was basically on hold and I've been pinching pennies here and there to try and get parts such as the stoptech pads.

In November I will be back to working full time+ and should have plenty cash to finish this project. The only issue then will be making time to work on it between school and work.

thanks for all the support from everyone here on the forum, sorry this has been a bit of a boring thread.

Last week I helped a guy from NC do his S54 swap in a weekend (he already had the m3 rear in the car. also he started with a 330i so he had a lot less wiring to do, in addition he left the original DSC his car came with). Hopefully he will post on here and show us his beast.

anyone have any suggestions on brake fluid? I noticed stoptech sells two different types. and i'm sure most people will say only use OEM.

but "what is the best"?

Every little bit counts.

Was that Dean from NC? I was talking to him on the phone to help him wire it up and get it started.

Not regularly but I plan to take it occasionally. The problem is there is no local track.

i used these diy's for installing the SS lines. i was wondering what the zip ties were for in the stoptech kit... now i know

http://m3.madrussian.net/diy_front_brake_lines.shtml

also i ran into a problem with the rear, i couldnt figure out how they fit into the bracket but i saw on this diy the metal gommet thing that fits in the bracket slides down to the bottom and looks like its part of the lower fitting... anyway this helped

http://m3.madrussian.net/diy_rear_brake_lines.shtml

my next step is to add fluid and bleed the brakes/clutch but first i need to buy the two little nuts that hold the slave cylinder to the trans and the fluid.

http://m3.madrussian.net/diy_brake_bleed.shtml

ok well I ran into one problem while installing my rear SS lines.... my lines don't have the metal grommet that fits into the bracket!!! what do I do?

 photo IMAG0061_zps637dc540.jpg

Notice how mine doesn't have the metal grommet like the ones do in the mad Russian diy. They are both stoptech, why do mine not have the grommet??
