New E46 Teething Problems

Hi All,

This is my first ever post, so please be easy on me!

After waiting so long (years) to finally get my hands on a E46 some advice would be great.

Side light replacement?
Does the whole front light unit have to come out to change one tiny bulb?

Thanks...C

Depends on the year. In mine...'99, the turn signal comes out. You push a screwdriver down the oval slot above it and push down on a plastic tab lightly and it releases the housing.

On later models, I thought you can get your hands in there to get the bulb, but maybe not...idk. Wait and someone can help...or google...changing turn signal bulb in e46

You'll be okay here...if anyone beats you up, let me know and I'll annoy them for you!

DMAX...we call the Dimmed Lights over here (uk) side lights as well...I didn't mean side indicator.

Maybe I should have made a clearer definition....mine is a 2003 and it looks a little busy behind there for my big hands...

Thanks though.

My turn signal is also my 'running light' not quite sure which bulb you mean.

But, depending on the side of car, you can easily remove the airbox to gain access to the corner.

Maybe realoem.com will help you too, until someone here wakes up and can help you. Enter your vin and bookmark the page--access to all your part numbers. Very handy place!

Sorry I can't help more...maybe find someone with smaller hands? Lure a child or woman with candy or something?

From what I can comprehend at 8am, you want to change out turn signal bulbasaur.

I believe it's a screwdriver.
