U of Akron officer - good shoot

Just because my favorite sub-forum has been rather quiet lately

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=_UaEBFJOlgY

Quote:
In this video, Officer Aaron Burnette of the University of Akron (OH) PD encounters a sixty-four year old man on a traffic stop. During the course of the stop, the man gave a false name and social security number to the officer. Officer Burnette orders the man out of the vehicle. As the man begins to open the door, he says, "I hate to have to do all this," as he produces a pellet gun made to look like a .45. Officer Burnette openes fire, fatally wounding the suspect.

During the ensuing investigation, it was learned that the man had told family members that he was not going back to jail, and he would make the police kill him. Officer Burnette did a fantastic job creating distance, putting accurate rounds on target during a high stress incident, demonstrated a calm demeanor and was successfully able to relay information to his backup.

Officer Burnette was cleared without the case being brought before a grand jury by the Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh, who said of the shooting, "Certainly, if we felt that this was a close call or there was any question as to whether or not the officer acted appropriately, we would then send the case to a grand jury. This was very clear cut."

Damn!
From the phone it seems he fired 16 times
Didn't see the slide lock back but the cop should've performed an immediate reload just in case he had to re-engage.

/armchair QB

Crazy video. Other than above, cop performed flawlessly and so did backup.
Amazing how calm and professional they can remain. Good training for sure
The sound of sirens getting louder has to be the best feeling ever

It's also interesting to see FSO officers get on scene, pull him out of the situation and advise him to shut up.

Great post

I like at the end the female officer was telling him not to speak, she knew that camera was running (a couple of my cop buddies are complaining about cams as some cases are getting thrown out because of stuff the officer said) . Great job by the officer though, definitely needed to reload

Is he shaking, or is his gun hand shaking at the end?

Adrenaline dump. Wouldn't be surprised if he sat down and wanted to fall asleep
