How to wire angel eyes to turn on and off with lock and unlock

I recently put in the new orion V4 angel eyes in to my 2004 BMW 330i ZHP. The way the instructions told me to wire them was into the red and gold wire. The angel eyes work perfectly when I turn the car on and off, but I would like them to turn on when I unlock the car. Is this possible?

There should be another wire that you need to run through the firewall on the passenger side and splice into the power wire of the footwell light. Theres a hole already there.

Ok, but what if that doesn't work? I installed my V4s just like the instructions said but my angel eyes won't turn on unless I flip the ignition to the 2nd position. I don't think it's something wrong with my car because the footwell lights turn on just fine. Is it possible that it's something with the relay? When tapping that trigger wire to the positive terminal nothing happened.

If your relay is wired to do so (got that wire that can go thru the firewall on passenger side) then you can do this, I just installed mine 2days ago following the instructional video. I will post the link tomorrow once I am out of duty (onboard ship right now).

Thing is I have to remove my Angel eyes and replace them, coz they are blue and apparently they are illegal coz its impersonating a cop thing, being a military personnel they just gave me a warning about it and told me have it replaced or removed. Imma replace it with the multi color one, so when I am driving I'd go with purple or Teal color (my car is mystic blue metallic) and on meets I'd switch it to blue. xD

Anyways just wait til tomorrow imma link up the instructional video that I used.

Do they come on/off with the interior lights? If so everything is good. They are supposed to come on when the key is in pos 2/car on. The footwell trigger wire is for the fade on/off or for them to be on whenever your interior lights are on.
