Fyi, Walmart now stocks the Everstart Maxx in 94R for $75.00!!! I returned the Autozone batt and installed the Everstart, and it fits perfectly! Great news for vert owners looking for a more economical alternative.

Finally after 7.5 year my battery gave up. The eye was still green but the car was barely starting.

I went to Walmart during my lunch break, got the Everstart 94R for $77, installed it right there on the parking lot and returned the old battery for $5. It took about 15 minutes and I was taking my time.

It looks like the Everstart 94R is an exact fit and is made by Johnson Controls. Thank you guys!

Just got my Autozone replacemant for free...Duralast 94R. Thing lasted me 16 months.

Doesn't help having the car stored for months at a time!

So my battery died 3 months after my BMW warranty.

I called BMW of Bayside in Douglaston, NY and the guy at the service dept told me it would cost me around $700 to have a new battery installed.

On my way to AutoZone for the 94R-DLG

This forum is amazing

That's the "you are a sucker who knows nothing about cars" price so they were obviously fishing for some easy shop revenue. I paid around $150 for a BMW battery at the dealer with my CCA discount. It's made by Exide.

Buy the BMW battery! Picked one up today for my M3 Vert for $144 with tax at the dealership. They had 12 in stock and I have a discount card.

Glad I checked here as I was about to head to the "Zone" and buy the Duralast 49-DL. Picked up the 94R gold, put it in and she started right up. Thanks to all for the details on battery replacement.

I have a sears battery. Diehard I think. One of the few thing the PO replaced. I'm pretty sure I still have 2 years or so left on the warranty. So if it shits the bed I'll just to to sears and get a replacement. After that I think I'm going with an aftermarket car audio battery made by kinetic. Anyone use dry cell batteries in there cars. Optima for example? The one I'm looking at sells for around 250. I'll just go to a car audio shop in Miami and test fit it and find out about reviews. I'm running two amps and I'm sure dropping the top will draw a lot and cause premature battery failure.

+1 for AutoZone Duralast Gold. Got one yesterday (for E36 so it's the Group 92 not 94) and it fit perfectly. Higher CCA than OEM and made in Germany. The AZ guy even gave a discount (I think because my dad said yes to the felt rings and terminal grease )

I'm planning on getting the 94R-DLG once my E46 needs a new battery.

3 1/2 years ago, my CPO 2006 325 convertible was still under the BMW road service coverage. Thinking I had a dead battery, I decided to call road service instead of trying to jump it myself. The driver convinced me that since I still had the CPO warranty, it would be better to bring the car to the dealer to be checked to confirm there wasn't an electrical problem. I agreed and $475 later, I had a new BMW battery. I kicked myself because I knew I could have went to Auto Zone and saved myself 300+. I chalked it up to a lesson learned.

Now 42 months later, the car won't start. Being burned once, I check voltage and sure enough, the battery is down to 11. Go to Auto Zone and pick up the Duralast Gold 94R for $150, pop it in an all is good. I check voltage at the battery when running and it's charging.

It really annoys me that not only did I get an expensive lesson the first time, I only got 42 months out of an OEM battery. Anybody else get such a short life from a battery?

Someone used a hand-crank FM/AM radio to do the same in mine.
