My Ride: '02 BMW 325i Sedan
Arrow '02 325i sedan, looking at cats, headers and exhaust systems

Hey! brand new to the forum. Picking up my '02 325i sedan (5-speed) on saturday. A little background, car has 150k on body, 89k on engine. Car has sport pkg, premium pkg and cold weather pkg.

The only thing about this one is that the cat is bad. So, I need a new cat but I also want to eventually (within the next year or less) get a nice exhaust setup, and header setup. basically anything that will give her a nice sound and at least make me feel like i have a little power. I know 325's arent great for performance mods but I love the car and I'm not getting anything else.

first thing I'm planning on doing is CSR.
next I'm getting a DSSR and a new shifter bushing kit.

Also I live in Illinois so I need to pass emissions (the CEL just needs to be off) no vacuum to the exhaust type of testing. Just plug and go.

I need a new cat, and soon want some pep to my step as well as great sound.

-is the stock cat the only cat? is it the best?
-are all exhaust system for 325i's cat-back only?
-are there headers that wont turn on my CEL?

I understand that you get what you pay for, and I want quality.

yah the cats are located in the headers. so if you did do aftermarket headers you would need to relocate cats or not use them at all. if you did this you would have to install software to get rid of the CEL codes.

you would also get nice throttle response with a shark injector for the 325i....it goes well with intake and exhaust.
