Upgrade speaker from HK, advise please

Hi, guys

I bought a e46 coupe with HK speakers and too be honest I am not happy with the sound quality of the HK system, I'd like to increase the sound clarity in mid and high and want to have tighter bass.

are there any speakers you guys recommend? I don't have a lot of money in budget so maybe I'll keep the amp and the bass, and just replace the speaker in the 2 doors, please help, thanks

I replaced the speakers in my non-HK coupe with:
Front tweeter: SEAS tweeter
Front mid: Vifa 2" full range speaker

I bought them at Madison Sound (www.madisound.com). The sound is much cleaner.

No but if you're handy with a dremel you shouldn't gave a problem. The Vifas are a bit smaller in diameter than the oem mids but that's corrected with some speaker tape (available from Madison Sound). You can use electrical tape also to smug them up. The SEAS are a bit bigger than the oem tweets. But mod'ing the bracket isn't too tough. The sound is MUCH cleaner and crisper. Well worth the investment. Btw, the Vifa speakers are reverse polarity so wire them backwards!!!!

I bought the SEAS 27TFFNC/G tweets. The Vifas are NE65W-04 mids.
