JBL MS-8 w/ Technic harness / Outboard amps ?

I have an 06 coupe, came w/ the HK system.
I upgraded to BSW Stage 1, which was nice improvement.
Added the two CDT 6x9 woofers w/ an JL Audio outboard amp - plenty of bass, for me...

Now I'm considering a JBL MS-8, w/ a Technic harness.

If I go with the MS-8, would its onboard amp (18w/ch?) offer any significant improvement over the stock HK amp, given that I'm sticking w/BSW speakers?

I do have a couple of old school amps I could recruit (ADS & Xtant) but if the MS-8 amp is significantly better than the HK, I'd probably be happy with it --
given that the install would be less complex and involved. Or, I guess I could/should just try it in stages - first the MS-8, and if that doesn't float the boat, start adding outboard amps onto the equation.

But if anyone is running the MS-8 w/ BSW speakers, would appreciate your opinion(s)

Not exactly what you are looking at doing but Ive got an MS-8 running all of the mids and tweeters in my E92 and the 18W is more than enough since its crossed over relatively high (but I do have an amp on the E92s underseat 8" woofers).....You might try running the entire front stage off the MS-8, it will definitely have enough power for the mids and tweeters, and I would think it should have enough for the door woofers if you are crossing over at 80hz or above. And if not, you could always amp those later if needed.

BUT, the big improvement with using the MS-8 is not going to be from any added power, its the crossovers, spacial processing, time alignment, EQ, etc... that will really improve your sound quality.

Im a big fan of the MS-8, its not as "idiot proof" as the designers (or perhaps marketers) probably hoped it would be, and it takes some setup, trial and error to get right, but once you get it right.....oh.....its right.....

I really enjoy the Rockford Fosgate 3.sixty.3 processor. Bluetooth tuning with your laptop and no feedback with factory bluetooth systems in your car. Jbl announced and knows that the ms8 is not compatible with factory bluetooth and I believe aux connections as well. That's where the 3.sixty.3 comes in. I love mine but I have never tried or messed with a ms8 so I'm biased with what I have I suppose.

That and I believe the bsw speakers are rated at 60-65rms. I would run a solid 60rms to them for best performance, but I'm a bit of an audiophile and have always had a nice set of active components.
